Trout maybe technically better but he pulls his punches sometimes. I can see Hurd outworking Trout, even walking through his punches. Hurd has a very methodological approach to his work. It's more than just brawling.
Do you remember Brook looking classy vs Spence in the opening rounds, while Spence was investing in the body?. That's Hurds line of work.

Hurds chin is made of iron & I really like his attitude in the ring. People were turned off by his last appearance but to me he proved he has grit. He can adjust, bite down and dig deep. That's the makings of a special fighter. I think Trout is past it but we'll see.

Nice counter points. If he can walk through Trout I will be impressed. Trout isn't the biggest puncher but he has a very respectable arsenal. Both these guys are gritty fighters and Hurd will certainly have to make adjustments. This fight will let us know where Trout's at.
