Comments Thread For: Trout Very Motivated To Crash Hurd's Planned Coming Out Party

By Thomas Gerbasi - Austin Trout didn't mind being one of the elder statesmen on the dais during the press conference to announce his Oct. 14 bout with Jarrett Hurd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Among the six junior middleweights in attendance that day, only Erislandy Lara, at 34, was older than the 32-year-old Trout, who noticed the fire in the eyes of the young guns Hurd and Jermell Charlo (27), Erickson Lubin (22) and Terrell Gausha (30) that surrounded him...

He better be. If he's not he's for sure losing. This isn't Charlo vs Lubin interesting to me, but it kinda feels like its a poor mans version of Charlo vs Lubin so its interesting enough since Trout has earned his spot, but is a lot more on a downtrend these days & Hurd is trying to prove more about himself, while already showing more than Lubin has vs better guys.

if Hurd wins this fight its going to be a plus for him. He can win if he decides to use his height and reach to his advantage. Hurd is always looking for KO.

        Weak Trout couldn't crush a fricking g****.

Soft Trout is a bottom feeder going nowhere in boxing.

The winners of those bouts need to unify. I like Lara enough but everybody on that undercard are way more exciting.

Yea even doe Lara is my favorite guy on this card he's in the most bs fight easily which is a damn shame, but I'm kinda starting to think he just doesn't give a f#ck & is perfectly cool making 700k-1M vs lesser guys. But yea all these 154 guys need to figure out who's the #1 guy at 154. Its the most interesting division with talented guys who seems not on schedule or trying to figure anything out in regards to that who's the best question.

Rooting on the WBSS trying to f#ck with them in 2018 or 154 guys just figuring it out for themselves however they need to go about doing that.

I'm trying to remember who else is in the mix. Gallimore looks good. Andrade went to 160. Cotto's belt should be vacant soon enough. Lots to look forward to at 175, 154 and 140 right now.

Agree on 175. Thats a entirely up for grabs division now with Ward retired & Kov shook.

Idk about 140 doe. What am I missing there. That seems like a pretty barren division to me. Some interesting guys on the rise, Lipinets + Taylor I'm mainly thinking of off the top of my head although I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting, but largely at the top its a bunch of non-exciting, non-name failed guys right now.

Every belt is vacant at 140. Lol yeah. Not the best division.

Trout doesn't have a choice but to win this fight. Otherwise he drops to gatekeeper status. If he can handle Hurd's length and keep out of range off those bombs he should be good. I think he can do it.
