Anyone j ows what Kovalov even made for jos last fight with Ward??? It was for only ppv buys?? Dumbest contract ive ever seen taken. Barrera has nothing to cry about. $300K is probably more than Kovalov made against Ward

Smart indeed. He better go get Al Haymon.Comment

Still can't believe Roc Nation paid him $10 million over the last two fights. If they promote another big fight I'd be surprised. They make so much money in sports and music, why continue in a space so complicated? I expect the boxing division to be shut down soon.Comment

I don't agree with his position. 300K is good money. Yes, it's a tough fight for him but Estrada and Cuadras made around 75K each for what a was a tough fight for both of them. You throw in HBO main event exposure and it's even a better deal. Kovalev is a big step up from Joe Smith but he's would've been catching him at a good time. Disappointing.Comment

"I took Shabranskyy [in December 2016] for no money. I took Smith Jr. [in July 2017] for no money. I think I showed people with those wins that I’m a good boxer. I just want to be paid fairly. Boxing is my job.”
Do not blame him one bit.
Wait for that title shot instead.Comment

I think he should command a minimum of 500k at this stage in his career. I imagine he can't have too many big paydays left. You take that fight for 300k, then where do you go? That's probably the only fight that could possibly get him a 1 million down the line. I think it was a smart play. He's too old to not direct his future now.Comment

Have you seen what guys are making on other platforms with his divisional ranking? I think he should be at least at the 500k line now. He's a top 5 name at LHW.Comment

Hekk I'll take 300k lol I wonder what was his previous purses?? I kinda see where he's coming from. Why risk a title shot. That belt will bring him more money and leverage during negotiations. He fought Andre Ward (who KO'd Kovalev) and beat a Joe Smith Jr. who was on a hot streak! So to say he's scared is out the door! He just wants a bigger pay check. If Kovalev still had a belt I'm sure he'd fight him.Comment
