There is no fair fight in Vegas most likely. You'd have to find three judges who were top notch and had absolute integrity. That ain't happening. So if he is taking this fight he better be dominant or the same thing could happen again. Personally based on what I saw if I'm Golovkin I'm going for full assault early. I'm trying to make this a war.

I saw more hesitation/concern, than I saw "walking thru"

what was he waiting for, permission from his corner ?

Golovkin never came close to hurting Canelo..... so all that "walking thru" that you saw..... did not amount to much

ggg should have finished stronger against howdy doody. GGG and Sanchez said beforehand that they would get robbed as Fishnets always protects Howdy Doody with the judges, as history has shown.

still, it's not right to just shrug off "that's boxing" when one guy is clearly the benfeciary of corruption and routinely is given 4, 5, 6 more rounds officially than he deserves.

I agree. They knew if it was remotely close that they could lose (or draw I guess). That said it doesn't make it right. But you have to deal with reality. Golovkin needs to be more convincing if he wants an official win. I personally feel he needs to be more assertive from the opening bell.

Right! and where was GGG's power? Dude had Canelo up against the ropes all night and couldn't bust a g****. Maybe little GGG got scared of Canelo's counter punching to put in any work. I saw GGG at least buckle twice from Canelo's lack of power plus GGG is supposed to be the bigger man and stronger puncher.

Remove each side from the equation and find a fighter who hates them equally and you'll find the right answer. I think the public perception of who won this fight overall is quite telling, haven't seen such a lopsided siding with one fighter since Pacquaio vs Bradley 1.
                **** Gonzalez vs Rungvisai.

As you said Boxing fans see what they want to see.

fan comments are almost 100% a popularity contest

                  which is nothing meaningful

people see what they want to see

                  very few keep it real
Agree but usually with two popular fighters there is some sort of balance, at least one fighter gets 30% plus of public opinion. I have only seen one other side with this much of a lopsided public perception. I'm not saying it's right or wrong though.

so, now Trella was wrong also ?

so..... the only guy who did get it right, is the guy who awarded the fight to Golovkin by ONE point?

or, was he wrong as well ?

all I said was..... that fight was close as hell, and extremely difficult to score..... so not sure if the words "clearly" and "convincingly" can be correctly applied to that fight

the judge who favored Golovkin saw nothing clear, or convincing

you made a number of reasons/excuses in that short post..... because nothing was clear or convincing

all of the " Golovkin won easy " people..... are no different than Adelaide Byrd, who got it wrong

btw, Byrd scored the way she did because she favors the boxer in those matchups..... unless the pressure fighter/stalker is able to catch him and land something meaningful..... as do I, and most old school observers

she saw Canelo did his thing, more effectively than she saw Golovkin do his thing

I don't think she gave Golovkin enough credit..... but Golovkin's problem is that he was outboxed and largely ineffective for long stretches in that fight

a draw/rematch is the best result

against an A-side superstar, in Vegas..... Golovkin was EXTREMELY lucky to keep his titles

there have been MUCH worse decisions

the guys who are wailing and lamenting..... are ignoring the fact that Golovkin FAILED to get the result he wanted, and was largely ineffective for the most part
I wasn't trying to say Trella was wrong. What I was saying was if someone thought Trella got round 7 wrong, which is the popular belief, then he could also get another round wrong that he scored for GGG instead of Canelo. I then explained why I agreed with your post about why you thought the fight was close which I also agree with. BTW I had it for Canelo 7-5 and I can also understand why a judge can have it for GGG 7-5 because of all the subjectivity that we have in this sport.
