I see it the same exact way. Hopefully it'll be Charlo Vs Jacobs

Immediate rematch? If Canelo does not give a **** about the WBC belt why would he abide by this ruling? Lol

Makes all the sense in the world. The WBC wants the rematch (for whatever reason), and given Charlo's No.1 contender status, its best to 'mandate' it than to 'allow' it to fend off any objections from Charlo - a stronger position to defend from (first thing I thought when I read this was 'smart').

No idea why the WBC wants this, but they clearly do.

I guess if the other organizations follow suit Canelo will be in a predicament. The WBC may be able to reverse the decision (not sure) if that means anything. It's up to the other sanctioning bodies to order a rematch. It might just happen to set an example and scare other fighters from becoming independent of the sanctioning bodies.

With Jacobs on HBO, I doubt that that'd be the move, tbh. If Eddie Hearn is successful in delivering for Jacobs (fights in November, gets another good fight in March), I could honestly see Jacobs vs Golovkin 2 (if Canelo passes on the third fight) or Jacobs vs Lemieux as being the next big fights (Sky Sports vs BoxNation makes a Saunders-Jacobs fight still difficult to put together, so I instead see HBO trying to push Alvarez-Saunders instead).

I appreciate their decision but Canelo will flip out when he hears this news and move back down to 154 to fight for a vacant belt from a different org.

Not so much to duck Golovkin as to find a way to needle the WBC.

The WBC made this move so they won't have to strip Golovkin. Either way, he is fighting Canelo next for the other belts. Charlo can fight someone else in the meantime. Maybe fight someone a step up from Heiland before fighting GGG (should he beat Canelo in the rematch).

They really act like their orders have any impact on a Canelo decision lol.
