From a spectator's perspective, the first fight was good but far from great. AJ/Wlad, Haye/Bellew, Estrada/Cuadras, heck even Rung/RG 1 were better or rather, greater fights.

This fight always seemed like it might burst into life but it never did. There were moments of excellence but GGG was just too good for large parts. So I'm not sure if I'd be excited by a rematch.

As a savvy fan, I know the rematch would have bought judges/referees so why bother?

If Canelo and Golden Boy wnat to wait out the rematch till Cinco de Mayo, that's fine, but let Golovkin have his fight in December. Inactivity will hurt both men but especially Golovkin at 35. I'd like to see him unify against Saunders and then have the Canelo rematch in May.

What other options? This is the biggest and most important fight for both of them, no need to bother with other opponents until they've settled this.
