Why is canelo's technique so much better than a guy who had over 300 amateur fights

Not sure you you're referring to as a noob, but Canelo is not a complete fighter. Neither is GGG. They each have glaring flaws, but Canelo has yet to overcome the biggest one of all which is his stamina.

i swear this is the lunatic forum. Back in the real world noone is saying canelo was more skillful, he got clocked with twice as many jabs as he landed ffs, he couldnt dodge a jab to save his life, but 'more skillful doe'.i think you idiots are trying to save face, a lot of people went hard on saying canelo would outbox him, it didnt happen, but to try and save face you are trying to pretend he did. he was outlanded in 10 rounds, spent most the fight retreating/sat on the ropes and dont tell me compubox was wrong cause it wasnt, it was clear who was landing more. Almost noone in the media scored the fight for canelo apart from two mexicans and his promoters lol, but you lot are making out it was something like calzaghe v lacy.

Yeah Zurdo Ramirez just said Nelo didn’t “run.” And he sparred both guys. At least Nelo’s camp isn’t insecure to release that footage. As guys like Andy Lee or other Southpaws would know ggg’s protectiveness. I mean if the narrative is that Jacobs gave ggg problems because he could switch Southie then god knows what Ward would do... speaking of god, s.o.g!

GGG fans don’t like to acknowledge that Nelo stayed in the pocket more than Ggg’s Entire resume of opposition. In boxing you don’t win by just using the jab just because weaker opposition was broken down by it. Nelo wasn’t hurt by GGG’s jabs.

If ggg had “footwork” then he would’ve been able to lick hard combination spots whether it be on the ropes or centered. GGG was afraid to get uppercutted which is why he didn’t let go with body attempts. This is why JCC dropped GGG from his fanboy list

Canelo went to the ropes himself 90 percent of the time as he was trying to work off of them

I can understand that. It was a close fight and I think people need to start respecting that close fights aren't always going to be seen their way. Nothing is more tired than these guys who scream about one close fight being a robbery, then saying everyone needs to get over other close fights where their guy eeks it out.

I think Canelo threw it away but it was close enough that I'm not going to try to convince others of that because it was close and him drawing or winning can be valid, depending how you score.

You would have thought canelo was the Olympic medalist.
Canelo is younger, has more athleticism than GGG , faster hands, faster and more explosive movement ... but he still couldn't beat him and took more punches than he landed.

Why do you think that was?

I think people started overrating a long amateur career because it fit their narrative about the new wave of favorite fighters. The professional level of boxing is different from the amateurs. Yes, you face a lot of fighters with varying styles but it's still an amateur style. Golovkin faced a ton of amateurs. Canelo faced a lot of professionals. It's obvious which one got better experience.

You are overlooking a lot of things. Canelo is 27 years old which is young prime while GGG is 35 which is 5 years past prime. That's an 8 year advantage for Canelo right there. I promise you Canelo will not be as sharp 8 years from now as he is now. The big majority of viewers thought GGG won the fight with his punches you find so sloppy. All the pro boxers and pro trainers I have heard an opinion from thought GGG clearly won. Canelo is an extremely talented boxer and one of the most skillful boxers in the world. So what if he didn't have that many amateur fights? He has been training as a boxer from a very young age. He turned pro at 15 and has had over 50 pro fights. He is a dedicated boxer and has devoted himself to perfecting his boxing skills and being the best boxer he could be since he was a very young boy. He grew up in a boxing family and had very good teachers from the start. That kind of boxing upbringing is every bit as valuable as GGG's 350 amateur fights.

Ortiz had 383 amateur fights but none of that matters.

Nothing can prepare him for the Herculean task that awaits him November 4th.
