the assumption that Canelo has 10 yrs of successful ppvs ahead of him is pretty bold. Mayweather benefitted from the mystique of being undefeated. Canelo doesn't have that and the more big fights he has, the more likely he'll rack up more losses. Especially if they get 3 competent judges to score his fights for once. Imo he should have 3 losses on his record now. Some may argue 5.

Good numbers obviously, but glad this circus broke neither the ppv nor the gate records.

The longer this dragged on before they released the numbers the clearer it became obvious that it didn't beat the record. You also have to mention the elephant in the room which is all the ppvs they are forced to refund because of the server crashes. Mass amounts of refunds Showtime was slapped with a class act lawsuit forcing them to refund and UFC already following suit issuing refunds for virtually all ppvs sold on UFC.tv because they had 100% server failure meaning nobody who bought it through the UFC were able to watch the fight.

The fight was still massively successful number 2 all time is nothing to sneeze at but pirating, technical issues, and stubbornly refusing to lower ticket prices the days and weeks before the fight leaving over 6,000 seats in t-mobile empty on fight night. They left a lot of money on the table.

like they'll ever really say it did 3.5 mil. that's way below expectation. their gonna stick with the 4.4 + mil.

UFC server crashed. Showtime didn't. Therefore minimal Showtime refunds.
