It is ridiculous. But hardly surprising.
Every single poster (who's a rational actor) on here agrees that a May/PAC fight in 2009 would have been most ideal (and likely more competitive) .
Keep in mind that may/PAC refused to do a world tour to promote it. There was limited media participation, and when the fight was officially inked, it was February (fight was in early May).
Look at the numbers it did.
You're telling me that in 2009 with a major world press tour, these camps couldn't have generated enough hype to sell 4.5 million PPVs? Please. It would have crushed it.
And if the fight was competitive, the rematch would've sold itself, and possibly a trilogy.

If anything, maygregor showed that circuses sell. Casuals don't give a **** who wins the Kentucky derby or the super bowl. They are there for an event.

You could get 5 million views with Colin kapernick vs Donald trump in a bare knuckle brawl if both would agree to it.
          Ridiculous? Yes. Surprising? Hardly.

Am shocked it sold that much, the outcome was already known amongst fight fans so for them to still sell over 4 million!!!

Just like I thought it either broke it or came very close. Amazing really considering one guy was coming out of retirement and the other was coming from the UFC.

7? We only started talking about PacMay in 09' right after Hatton got flattened.
