You mean the real world outside Quebec ? Is that the real world, or is that just fantasy ? A landslide of popularity, no escape from reality. Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see.Comment

Isn't this a low replay figure for a fight like this? I thought replays of this magnitude usually grab 900k - 1.5 million views.
Maybe people were annoyed by the aftermath?Comment

I wasn't online during the run-up for Oscar-Floyd, but there's an energy that comes behind the really blockbuster fights (in recent history Oscar-Floyd, Floyd-Canelo, Floyd-Pacquiao, Floyd-McGregor, Pacquiao-Marquez 4) that doesn't seem to be there for Canelo-Golovkin.
Cotto-Canelo, Canelo-ChavezJr, and Canelo-Golovkin seem to all have about the same feel (I'd argue that Cotto-Canelo felt the biggest of the three, but whatever). Two weeks on, hopefully HBO puts forward a range that they want to put their necks on the line for.Comment

Beyond that, what live game was the Canelo-Golovkin replay even competing against? lol.Comment

Yup it was an extremely slow build and mostly centered on fight week. Besides the HBO specials I didn't see much build to this fight which I feel deserved it.Comment

In the world of internet wagers, who knows. All I've been saying is that peripheral indicators are showing that the fight was nowhere near as big as folks seem to think. The general sports world didn't follow up the fight, my usual sports bar spot wasn't packed in anywhere near as deep as even the Canelo-ChavezJr fight (secondhand info from my brother, as I was flying in from Minneapolis), and now, after the seeming scoring controversy, the boxing audience didn't tune in to catch the fight on regular HBO.
