that knockout result wasn't legit, but the man had figured kovalev out and was setting up for a stoppage or wide decision win.

you'll be alone if you want to argue that ward shouldn't get credit for the win. he got it from all of the experts, who had seen enough after 20 rounds to know who the better fighter was.

    tainted win? sure

not a win? no. at best kovalev gets time to recover, and goes right back to getting outboxed by a superior boxer who had 20 rounds to figure him out. which he was.

again, none of you will be convincing me that floyd's cotto win is a greater win than ward's knockout over a pound for pound rated kovalev, who earned his p4p status in a lot of ways in the first fight where you can easily make the argument that he beat andre ward.

i was at that fight, and basically nobody in the building thought ward won. that win gives a lot of credit to kovalev's ranking on the p4p list at the time of the second ward fight. certainly puts him above a miguel cotto who was three awful wins past a life changing beating from pacquiao, and who lost to austin freaking trout in his next fight.
he was good the first half of the first fight and got figured out by the swcond half. Kovalev was ranked that high because the p4p list was so god awful he was there by default. I dont care how many fights you been to either....ward won both fights and kovalev will never ever be greater than cotto.

Love watching fans of each fighter defending their guy's resume. Ward once said he would be willing to come down to 160 to fight Floyd, but for some reason not Golovkin. GGG offered to come down to 154 to fight Floyd, and Floyd told him to fight Ward.

Both Floyd and Ward have had gift decisions go in their favor. Technically neither one of them should be undefeated, which is what many of their fans hinge their legacy upon.

              Best wins.

Manny - Koed. Much smaller. Shorter reach and height. Huge physical disadvantage.

              Mosley - Past prime.

De la hoya - way past prime.

Canelo - 21 and weight drained.

Corralles - not on kovalev's level and a walking corpse.
First of all, Corrales was a much better talent than Kovaquit will ever be. Kovalev didn't beat anybody before fighting ward accept and old man Hopkins and an blown up B-Level Pascal.

Kovalev can't even go the distance or do basic shít like cut a dang ring off.

Nobody was saying Mosely was too old in the fight before Floyd where he knocked Margarito the fùck out.

I disagree. First I do think the blows were low and it was a bad stoppage. I also believe that Ward was on his way to either a UD or possibly a stoppage.

No doubt in my mind Kov at that point was a better fighter than Cotto.

So Ward got knock down and arguably lost to a crap fighter. LOL!

Corrales was in no way better than kovalev. Hell no. You're nuts.
