Before I even clicked this thread I knew it would be a Floyd hater making the same **** argument they've been making for years. It doesn't matter who Floyd beats, there will always be an excuse. He schooled the his longterm boogeyman in Pac. Excuses. He schooled Canelo in his prime at the age of 36. Excuses. Hatton? Hernandez? Oscar? Maidana? Castillo? Judah? Baldomir (another Floyd boogeyman lmao)? JMM? It doesn't matter. There will always be excuses. There will always be haters there to downplay Floyd's accomplishments.

No one has accomplished what Floyd has. No one has fought as many champions. No has moved up four weight classes and dominated their late 30's the way Floyd has. Floyd fought nothing but the best and beat them easily.

And I even gonna hate on Andre Ward. He's a great fighter in his own right, but clearly not on the same tier as Floyd. I guess the point of this thread is that because *******s can't put Pac over Floyd anymore they have to resort to **** like this. Sad.

kovalev started pro late and was not showing any signs of deterioration, unlike cotto who turned pro after the olympics and had 100% slowed down. normally i'd agree with you, because 34 is past the typical athletic peak, but these russian guys don't turn pro in their early 20's. power is also the last thing to go on a fighter, and it's kovalev's best asset. he actually turned pro in 2009, if you can believe that. never been beaten up, and his defense was better than he was credited for, and he was not hit a lot.

he was still a much better fighter at the state at which ward beat him than cotto was. kovalev was arguably coming off of a win over ward. cotto was coming off of tyhree god awful wins, and a life changing beating from pacquiao.

he was younger than kovlaev in years [at the time of the floyd fight, cotto is actually older than kovalev,] but not boxing years. it was not as good of a win, there's no point in further trying to convince me otherwise because it's not even that close or up for debate.

no sound pound for pound list included cotto in 2012. no sound pound for pound list didn't include kovalev when ward beat him.

Some of those fights shouldnt even be sanctioned. I mean really, Canelo was 165lbs and 22yrs old. Floyd was freaking 37yrs old and 150lbs. He WALKED DOWN his big ass and didnt get touched by a single punch. Imagine a 37yr old SRL facing a man that much younger and bigger, he would get killed in the ring. I have NEVER seen a fighter like Floyd in my life. And the guys he faced are tougher than the guys he didnt face, due to him getting older and being too small really.

Him in his prime vs Cotto and Margarita, isnt even comparably tough to him being too old and performing like THAT!? Insane.

In fact, their is not one single fighter in history that could be at his circumstantial disadvantages, ie weight, age, size, and perform THAT DOMINANT!????

Its amazing that he fought in my era. I like Ward, but if Floyd was his size, age, and fought the same men, Floyd would've made it look EASIER!!
Yet almost everytime he was never out matched physically. Floyd was the same height as most of his opponents if not taller with a longer reach.

Definitely not trying to convince you. Why would I do that? Your opinion holds no relevancy on history

Sounds like you have your own issues. Everything doesn't have to revolve around loving GGG and hating him. Why don't you chill out.

he was not as highly rated p4p as kovalev was when ward beat him, and he was not a bigger guy, either. a win over miguel cotto in 2012 is not equal to a knock out of p4p ranked kovalev in 2017. it just isn't.
I don't know what your other points are but on this point about Kovalev vs. Cotto you are absolutely right. Anyone in their right mind knows that Ward's second win against Kovalev is 10 times what Floyd's win against Cotto is worth. If you are a casual and just looking at names Cotto is probably better but if you know boxing you know it is not. And I like Cotto.
