Here's a question that I'm sure will generate lots of hate but I honestly ask the question, did Floyd fear what he saw from Pac at any time? If he didn't why wasn't he willing to fight Pac under any circumstances? I'm not interested in name calling BS just give me your thoughts or don't.

If you are a casual and just looking at names Cotto is probably better but if you know boxing you know it is not. And I like Cotto.
Kovalev is overrated too.....who has he beaten?

ko'ing a guy with low blows isn't worth anything. its not even a legit win.

well, that's not entirely true. i had media credentials for several years, and i could get them again if i had the time. i could eventually get a hall of fame vote if i continued on my trajectory. i know people who have are in the BWAA and they don't know boxing the way i do.

If you can't watch fighters and know who is good and who isn't I can't help you.

If you couldn't see his quality when he fought Ward in the first fight I got nothing for you.

yes, kovalev is a limited fighter and ward exposed some of his limitations, but are you trying to argue that he was so overrated that he was a lesser win than cotto, who got beat handily by austin trout in his next outing? because that's what's important for the discussion.

again, none of you will be convincing me that floyd's cotto win is a greater win than ward's knockout over a pound for pound rated kovalev, who earned his p4p status in a lot of ways in the first fight where you can easily make the argument that he beat andre ward.

i was at that fight, and basically nobody in the building thought ward won. that win gives a lot of credit to kovalev's ranking on the p4p list at the time of the second ward fight. certainly puts him above a miguel cotto who was three awful wins past a life changing beating from pacquiao, and who lost to austin freaking trout in his next fight.

most of hte people on this website genuinely know very little about boxing, or are trolls / racists / partisan sh#t stirrers. don't pay them a ton of attention.

Same reason Pacquiao wasn't interested in fighting Floyd under any circumstances duh. Drug Testing, 40 million etc. Was Pacquiao scared?

thats what i thought....nobody knew how good kovalev was because he hadn't really faced anyone worth a damn besides 50 yr old hopkins. ..ward had him figured out by the second half of their first fight and he dominated him in the second fight stopping the quitter on his stool.....Kovalev didn't look good in his fight prior to fighting ward either. Overrated!
