I'm inclined to agree. It felt that Canelo went after the Lara fight (I mean, he literally chased the guy around the ring) and it was the best Alvarez had to offer at the time.
He's an even better fighter now, but against Golovkin, he was making ****** decisions, not listening to his corner, and was not the best he could be.

To me, there's no "right" answer on this one.

Definitely. Those 3 names pretty much always incite flames so it's hard to get a rational discussion going but I thought I'd at least try.

Check out the different reactions of the crowds in attendance at those two fights when the verdicts were announced - wild applause and cheers for Canelo when he got the nod over Lara ... booing and jeering from his own fans when he was given the draw with Golovkin.

That alone should answer the question posed in this thread

GGG by a long shot. Never seen Canelo running like that before!

Rope a Dope? Is that what they're calling laying on the ropes when you get tired now? I think Lara should have thought him how not to use all his energy when running as well.

I thought GGG was a much harder fight for him. Lara kept the fight close with his cleverness and fast accurate punches but I thought Canelo won and Lara never hurt him. Lara ran most of the fight so Canelo chased him and landed the better punches even if Lara landed a few more punches. It wasn't a grueling, physically draining fight for Canelo. He wasn't exhausted at the end of the fight. I thought GGG beat Canelo. Canelo was faster and sharper on offense and defense than GGG and he landed some hard flashy punches throughout the fight. GGG was too strong for Canelo and set too fast a pace for him. GGG attacked 3 minutes of every round and threw a lot more punches and landed a few more punches than Canelo in most of the rounds. His constant pressure and high volume punching tired Canelo out. It forced him to fight in spurts and then retreat to get his strength and wind back. I think GGG won 7 or 8 rounds. He hurt Canelo and tired him out. Things Lara wasn't able to do to Canelo. The GGG fight was a much more difficult fight than the Lara fight for Canelo. At the end of the Canelo vs Lara fight Canelo called Lara a runner and said he would never again fight such a runner because it made a bad fight for the fans. He couldn't accuse GGG of running because he was the runner in that fight and Lara laughed at him after the fight which Lara scored for GGG.

He looked more comfortable and skilled against Golovkin in my opinion

Ali was "tired" playing rope a dope? The sweet science tells you it can be used to have your opponents win and jar their compubox. As sloppy as Maidana was, at least the dude got skin. Nelo didn't run against GGG
