Not playing any angles. Just asking an honest question. It's not about who is better, as these happened at different times in different weight classes. Just who did Canelo have a harder time with. Would like to get a discussion going.

WHO was the harder fight for Canelo; Lara or Golovkin??

I think most of us would agree that Lara vs Canelo II would happen at 160 again anyways.
Most likely the Reynoso's and advising from Bhop and Oscar was to see if they could tire out Golovkin. However, Abel and GGG didn't play that bluff about Mexican style and preferred to fight conservatively not gassing out with the Jab game. It was a very interesting fight because both fighters were able to recover their stamina. Nelo's defense is good, so the slipping and rolling laxed on the ropes is a perfect game plan to recoup power. Could've sworn Nelo did a 6-7 hit dodge combo from Golovkin in the 5th.
However, GGG is a big dude compared to Nelo. His head alone, bulbous, probably weighs twice that of Nelo. I think Alvarez will have to boost his game plan at 160, boost that power. This was he biggest Golovkin we've ever seen in the ring. I don't think Nelo can move GGGs 176lb weight just yet. Maybe one more for a full 160 rejuvenation and he'll be about 20% stronger. GGG has bottled 160 for quite some time.

golovkin. i thought he beat canelo 116-112. I thought canelo beat lara 115-113.There were swing rounds in the lara fight though so a strong case could be made for lara winning for sure whereas i dont see any case for canelo beating golovkin. Fighters should be rewarded for coming forward, effective aggression and fighting positively. Obviously this has to be coupled with punches landing which was the case in the golovkin fight as he landed more shots in 10 of the rounds. This is a combat sport which people seem to overlook. In my eyes if you are going to fight negatively by backing up and sitting on the ropes, you have to put on a clinic and make it clear you are doing the better work and landing more often with clean shots. I definitely didnt think canelo did that against golovkin and i dont quite think lara did enough against canelo.

Idk if I'd say that lara was a tougher fight for him than GGG, but i do think it was a much more frustrating fight for him. Although I had Canelo barely losing both (neither a total robbery), I thought he had much less moments in the lara fight than he did against GGG. He never looked hurt or badly outboxed against GGG, whereas the in the Lara fight he looked like a deer in headlights and frustrated at various moments in their fight.

of course Lara cuz he did not give him a round and he had exhibited all his ability. People prefer to watch Alvarez - Golovkin fight but Lara is more talented both of them.

There's a lot of biased posters here, but the bottom line is Lara is the better, more skilled fighter over golovkin. Had canelo not had stamina issues, I have no doubt golovkin would not see the final bell, or it would've been a very wide UD.

Hard to say. GGG's control of the ring put Canelo into difficult situations constantly. Lara's defensive manuevering made it difficult for Canelo to land clean upstairs.
Either way Canelo had big obstacles to overcome and did a decent job of adapting to them.
