A lot of people don't like his technique, he's not very sound foundamentaly. He's still a entertaining fighter that's always in a fight cause of his power but everyone expects him to be outboxed against real competition. This should be His first real test and I expect him to win cause Ortiz is old and slow.

Is there hate ? Maybe - seems every boxer that gets some measure of success attracts the hate brigade these days (and the more success, the greater the howling).

Some grumbles about the opposition are fair enough, but he's dealt with everything that's been put in from him to date, not much more he could do, and not his fault about the Povetkin thing. Now we get Joshua (Ring 1) vs Pulev (3) and Wilder (2) vs Ortiz (4), and whatever one thinks of the HW landscape, can't ask for more than that.

Would have been more complete Parker (5) v Povetkin (6), but Fury a decent stand-in to see what Parker's got.

After Povetkin the HW division kind of falls off a cliff a bit - maybe Parker or Fury look like they belong after this weekend.

Time to sink or swim Wilder. I think Ortiz takes this fight by KO inside 7.

People need to stop expecting knockouts and slugfests from every single high level fight. Fighters of that level aren’t going to forego their defense just to make a good fight. It wouldn’t be fighting to the best of their ability. Then again these are heavyweights and both guys hit like a truck so I would be suprised if it went 12.

Fan of both fighters in this match-up, both are the real deal and have a hard enough punch to take the other out. I favor Wilder in this one but a win by Ortiz wouldn't be out of the question. Wilder, Ortiz and Joshua have made the heavyweight divion exciting again. It's about time!

I dont know how ppl call ortiz the boogeyman. Lol he is a 63 yr old cuban. I have him around same level as stiverne really. I guess maybe he the boogeyman because he hasnt been seen in over a yr? Either way wilder wins by decision. Shouldnt be that much a problem for wilder. Though he probably wont get a ko

I agree. Maybe they think if it seems that way then itll appear to be a huge win for wilder. I dont see him giving wilder much problems. Im not disillusioned by wilder but he is my favorite hw. He a cool guy. And entertaining. Fight i really want is against joshua though.

If we went by Ortiz real age he is approximately 20 years older than Wilder give or take more or less .

                      a true gentleman...

After Wilder knocks him out, he will donate part of his purse to help rebuild Luis's house that was destroyed by the hurricane.
