He displays an effortless ability to cut-off the ring that is unparalleled in the modern game.

Sounds like they need a real expert to teach them they are full of it.

The Saunders/Monroe fight WAS boring - did you see it ? It wasn't just Saunders fault, it was Monroe too, both were dismal, but if Saunders was the real deal he would have made that look like a mismatch, which he failed to do. The Monroe that fought Golovkin still had some self-belief, maybe Golovkin took that away, don't know, but the Monroe we've seen against Rosado and now Saunders was just a shell.

Styles make fights, and Jacobs and Canelo showed what you need to compete with Golovkin. If you had Jacobs size, foot movement, power and stamina combined with Canelo's hand speed, combinations and defence, Golovkin would be toast. But Saunders doesn't have the size, foot movement, power, stamina, combos or defence. He's left with some speed that diminishes around round 5, even when fighting a statue like Monroe. How is his stamina going to stand up to non-stop pressure from Golovkin ?

I didn't include my round 5 commentary, but it included 'Saunders getting ragged', ie he gassed without ever being under any pressure at all.

Saunders just stands zero chance with Golovkin, and the only way I look at the fight tbh is that it might give Golovkin a psychological boost to feast on some raw meat again prior to going in tough with Canelo again.

It could even be a 1st round ko as Saunders will go down and stay down if he catches that same shot Brook ate in round 1. Brook's got a pretty good chin (albeit weak cheekbones).
Save your breath there, expert bwaaaay. I know what I saw, and I'm far from the only one who saw it. GGG is/was only good at cutting off the ring vs the weak fighters who had lesser skills to deal with him. Vs the defensive master Canelo, he WAS clueless. Could NOT cut off the feking ring for shiiii.

And I'll take it as you're skeeeered Saunders would likewise do a number on your idol GGG. All the more reason for the fight top happen, Mr. Einstein Of Boxing.

      LOL!!!!!

Golovkin is 35 and might be showing signs of decline, but he started late in the pro ranks at 25, so is a young 35. What we saw with Jacobs/Canelo is that you need elite skills in one or more departments to compete with him. Jacobs and Canelo both had one thing in common, which was the ability to land hurtful shots on Golovkin if he made a mistake, and the skill to deliver those punches (where Lemoo didn't). This kept him from just marching forward like a wrecking ball until the other guy broke down.

If you have any doubts about Golovkin's ability to cut the ring off, please direct me to the round and moment where Canelo got a chance to rest a bit other than when he was on the ropes. What kept Golovkin a 1/2 pace back when Canelo was on the ropes was just the threat of the uppercut, so Golovkin's punches had to travel just that little bit further and Canelo's defence did the rest.

Jacobs kept off the ropes as he was able to keep moving for large portions of the fight and had the punch that made sure Golovkin had to think his way in a lot more than before.

BJS has none of the skills to avoid being bullied to the ropes and beaten down there. What value his speed if Golovkin can just ignore his punches and focus entirely on sitting down on his punches to Saunders body ? What else can Saunders do but back up to the ropes - then what does he do ? He doesn't have Canelo's uppercut to keep Golovkin from his preferred distance, and doesn't have Canelo's defence to keep off the beat-down that ensues.

Canelo may indeed crack the nut in the rematch, but BJS would just be a stay-warm type affair, maybe to try a few different things just for fun.
Maybe you are right. I hope GGG vs Saunders happens in december. But I believe that Saunders can beat today's GGG and Canelo like he beat Eubank jr.
