I'm always on here criticising wilder for fighting nobodies so I am here now to give him some credit. He's stepped up and took on a very difficult fight. He could have beaten stiverne again but he's chose to fight Ortiz and I look forward to it.

Great fight...unlike other fighters I criticize, Wilder is actually very likable but I couldn't defend his resume. I'm glad he's finally in a real fight. This should also provide a shiny light for GGG haters to focus on for a time. Now they can reverse every position they ever had for GGG and praise Wilder's resume and pretend he's the bravest fighter ever created for stepping up a little.

In fairness..... he beat a Olympic gold medalist( Harrison), a former world champion( liakhovich), a undefeated prospect( price), a top contender for his mandatory spot ( Scott), the #1 wbc ranked hw for two years who just won the vacant title by ko ( stiverve), two wbc top 15 fighters ( molina & duhapas), a wbc top 10 hw( szpilka), and another top 10 hw who was undefeated(Washington). Not to mention that he's also the most ducked hw in boxing right now. Makes me wonder if you guys who push this " step up" narrative even pay attention to what's going on, or if you just enjoy hating on wilder for whatever reason.

wilder is gonna ice ortiz but afterwards ortiz is a bum and too old. .hopefullly it doesnt get cancelled due to ortiz eating some "tainted meat"
interested to see how jacobs looks after being so sharp and exceeding expectations vs ggg ..was that his ceiling?
2017 the greatest year in boxing history. period.
