Golovkin is answering regarding Canelo's comments on going for the KO. So when he says i'm surprised, that's what he's referring to. He precipitates this by saying there was too much talking and that's what he's referencing to. I know people want to make it seem like he's just randomly saying he's mad Canelo didn't stand in front of him and go toe to toe, he's saying from all the shht talking in the build up to the fight he expect Canelo to actually try and stop him and is surprised when Canelo scrapped that plan.
You don't have to fight like rock'em sock'em robots to get a KO. Alvarez set up the same shot he KO Khan with and Trip ate it like a snack. The dude just has an iron chin.

To me...Sanchez and Trip only say what they think Golovkin fans want to hear.

Canelo wanted to box. That's the best way to put it. It's just hard for some people to understand because their concept of 'fighting' is simply to stand flat-footed in front of your opponent. Boxing might not be the ideal sport for sadistic fans who just want to watch two brawlers pound away at each other.

I'm just saying what it looked like to me ... which is that Canelo was gassed by the halfway point and GGG thought he had him under control and was happy to let him go the distance.

Canelo took a wrong turn somewhere and is now attending the Cuban school of boxing. Meanwhile, GGG is in Jalisco giving out jab lessons.

If GGG had won by KO it would likely be at least a couple of years before Canelo would be ready to come back for another go, and Golovkin can't afford to hang around. Time is running down on his career and he wants to maximise his earnings fast .
I doubt this is true. If it is, GGG deserved to get robbed because this strategy is ****** af given everyone was expecting a robbery for Canelo if it went to the cards.

I thought GGG's reactions at the end of the fight were strange. As soon as the final bell sounded, he started smiling and celebrating, like he was sure he'd won. Then when the draw was announced, he just shrugged, like ... "Ok, no big deal" and carried on smiling!

I can't get it out of my head that he was just as happy with a draw as with a points win, because both meant that he retained his titles and got a rematch.

Trip was throwing bombs that were missing. I think he respected the power and didn't want to gas himself out further.

But like you said in an earlier comment .. Canelo hit GGG on the chin with his best shot, and Golovkin ate it like snack.

Could be he was worried about possible body shots doe ...
