Well at his age his stamina and chin will begin to fade. He does appear to have a great chin and very good stamina BUT I'm not sure that many of those Canelo punches were fully loaded. Golovkin got hit with some decent punches but Canelo was rarely set to fully fire his heaviest shots at him and Golovkin never landed his best shots either because both their defenses were good enough to prevent that.

All these top guys are probably on performance enhancing drugs. Golovkin is just the best of the bunch, that's all.

Is that what it was? I was pretty drunk so you might be right. Either way people always seemed to exaggerate that one. Sure he was hurt, but the kid was literally a kid at 19 and has proven without a shadow of a doubt that he has a solid chin.

Canelo was down against Jose Cotto in like 2010, but people don't make much out of it cause he was only 20 and still learning.

It's because as opposed to Golovkin; Canelo is not a natural middleweight. It took him several years in order for him to grow into that weight division. Canelo is the naturally smaller man and his punches are a lot quicker and faster than GGG's because they're a lot lighter than GGG's. So it's not that far fetched or out of the ordinary why Gennady was able to absorb and eat punches from a naturally smaller and quicker opponent like Saul Alvarez.
