I think a lot of folks will watch that fight again over the next few days, away from the tension, and the beer.....

then they will start to quieten down a little
@0:54 perfect example but seems worse if not seen from this angle

first I watched it with no volume and this fight confirmed the what many said before - namely
          Golovkin
He has lost a step but he still has a great motor
Is he one dimensional - kind of, but it's a good dimension!
          He is not that quick
Sure he misses a lot of punches so his connect % is down but he throws a huge amount so he lands enough
I think at 35 he is just about still in his prime
For me, if Canelo had more power he would have taken Golovkin out last night, not a lot more power but just a hard hitting MW's power.
Golovkin does have great ring closing prowess but his iq needs working on or better training drills. Canelo leaned back against the ropes to make GGG miss and then took a quick sidestep to his left [Golovkin's right] and that happened all night long.
Golovkin was hesitant to throw his right a lot last night - but I think he should have thrown more rights to the body
          Canelo
He has tremendous composure in the ring, he was on the ropes a lot but never once looked panicked
He made GGG miss badly last night
It's true - he does slap - when he is tired
His footwork is just great - he got out of Golovkin's wheelhouse repeatedly - great defense
He never really troubled GGG with power - I think this will cause him issues going forward and if he ever moves up to smw, say in 5 years time, he'll have to be very carefully matched

I am in the minority but this wasn't a great fight - just a good fight. I'd probably like to see either of these 2 with Charlo before a rematch. Either with D'chenko would be interesting too.

I think the controversy in this fight stems from a few things. First, Canelo was backing up most of the fight. People usually assume the guy moving is losing. Secondly, Canelo never hurt GGG. Canelo hit GGG with some bombs and Gennady hardly blinked. People tend to disregard effective work when it doesn't visibly affect the opponent. Ironically, GGG hit Canelo with some bombs, and Canelo never blinked either. Lastly, and I believe the biggest factor in the controversy is the 10-2 scorecard. This was a very close fight. And to give either guy 8, you'd have to be trying really hard to do so. So the notion that either won 10 rounds is beyond ridiculous.

I doubt it man. People have already picked sides. And much like Ward-Kovalev I. Its pretty evident that the guy who was supposedly "robbed" is gonna have a tough time in a rematch. So the GGG folks are gonna want him to have his victory. Cause there's no guarantees next time around.
