Froch: 'Golovkin gets hit too much'

Just following on from another thread where Golovkin's opposition was reduced to just Jacobs and Lemoo, and Canelo's prime level opposition down to Trout/Lara/Mayweahter. How much did these guys get hit ? (In lemoo's case we have to scale it up by 3/2 to see what it might have looked like after 12).

How many punches did they take?

    Golovkin
    - Jacobs: 173 (Golovkin landed 231)
    - Lemoo: 136 (as mentioned scaled up for 12 rounds, Golovkin 420)

    Canelo:
    - Lara: 107 (but note that Canelo only landed 97....Lara made it that kind of fight)
    - Trout: 154 (Canelo only landed 124)
    - Mayweather: 232 (Canelo landed 117)
    - Cotto 129 (Canelo landed 155)

Threw Cotto in as why not, but ignored JCC as he wasn't throwing.

Key Question: How many do we think Jacobs would land on Canelo over 12 ?

Seem to be a lot of assumptions going into this fight that don't really stand up when you look closely. Sure you could look at some fights like Brook and Monroe where Golovkin fought according to the Brook Blueprint (which was really just the Monroe Blueprint of 'show Golovkin you've got nothing to bother him so he stops moving his feet') - but that Golovkin won't be showing up to fight Canelo, the Jacobs/Lemoo one will.

But the numbers tell us that Golovkin throws a lot more, and subsequently gets hit more too, but to date has significantly out-landed the opponent, whereas Canelo gets out-landed.

Sure Canelo's numbers start to look better if you start including the Kirklands and Angulos, but so do Golovkins once you start to include the Murrays, Geales and Macklins.

There is no amount of excuses to justify that level of cherrypicking hypocrisy & he dragged brook up 13 lbs not 8,he didn't even cw him to help brook out a lil.
Thing is the Brook fight was down to Eubank Jnr. I didn't want to see the Brook fight but at least he wasnt known for being fragile two weights down. The way for jmws to get Golovkin is to go to middle, but the only one who has recently is Charlo. Andrade and Lara would be good fights but both have been on the missing list. Trout got beat by Charlo. The thing is Froch is a massive hypocrites too, because he refused to fight Cleverly because he said he was too big for him and would have to come down half way. This was because Bellew was beating the crap out of him in sparring and he recognised he wasn't that big and strong.

          How boring is this cvnt

          Virtually everyone has ducked GGG

Even carl himself retired instead of taking the fight and the catchweight crap is a load of ****

It was agreed at 168 - the only catchweight was frock who wanted it moved into the 70s

A guy like Froch would be a sitting duck for GGG. He maybe would hold up for a little while with that chin but his telegraphed shots and exposed chin would not last 6 rounds with Golovkin. He wisely turned down that fight and he d@mn well knows it.

'Avoided him like the plague' as he said and fought guys like Groves instead. (I get that it was for money but then don't bring up resume) And who has Groves beaten besides DeGale ages ago?

Good point, but calling him out is not the same as getting in the ring with him. Very easy for people to call him out knowing that they are not really on his radar (or that there are other significant barriers to making the fight...like money).

I was as surprised as everyone else when the Brook fight was announced, but I didn't really have a problem with it because GGG had spent his career fighting 4 times a year for little money while chasing a big money fight. At the time that fight was made, it didn't look like any other big money fight was in the immediate future. So he got a good payday in front of an enormous crowd.

No one else you mentioned could have brought that at that time.

After facing some of the future 160/168 guys in his amature days they didn't want to fight him while as champ or making his way there, it's not his fault he's a wrecking ball

How does he beat you? Just like that bum Peter Manfredo did. GGG would stomp Frock.

I agree with Frock about GGG lacking names on his record though and I hate to agree with him on anything.
