GGG is easy to hit, but powerful. Great fight. Too bad the undercard got derailed. Diaz late replacement takes it down a big notch.
I wasn't all that thrilled about the undercard anyway. I wish we could have seen Lucas Matteyse on it. Or maybe a Lemiuex-Andy Lee fight. Or one of those fights from the superflyweight card HBO just put on.

YOU CANNOT AVOID GUYS WHO TALK **** ABOUT YOU FROM THE SAFETY OF AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT WEIGHT CLASS. Cotto and Canelo held belts in GGG's division. That is the difference. Why can't GGG haters get that through their heads already/

& ******ly tried to strongarm canelo with 45-55 split purse bid.
He didn't try to strongarm anyone. That's how the sanctioning bodies determing the purse would be split. Canelo's side would only need to worry about that split if they couldn't come up with a good enough offer. They didn't so they ran back down to 154.

the part hes wrong for is for forcing 15 day deadline while canelo was on trial 4 millions over promoter. He refused to negotiate less than 40%(going off gggs own words on youtube)& the purse bid meant canelo would be forced to give him an unfair amount as he was even more unknown/unproven on ppv back then than now.
Once again, GGG did not stipulate the purse splits or the negotiation deadline. That was the sanctioning bodies fault. Secondly, saying that he wouldn't go below 40% means he was at least willing to go to 40%. That means the split would have gone from just being 10% in Canelo's favor to 20% in Canelo's favor. How much lower did Canelo want GGG to go and at what point do you admit that Canelo could have just gave in to make the fight happen?
The PPV purse would make up the most of Canelo's money anyway. Why go so hardcore on the upfront money?

Why wasn't jacobs considered weight drained,he had as long to rehydrate as Jr did,& is supposedly some hw according to gggtrolls & made 160 weigh in not 164.5 like jr?
I guess the lesson to be learned here is that the guy who says "He's one of the few people here to take the sport seriously" has not heard about Julio Cesar Chavez Jr's long history of difficulties in making weight.

Re the 15 day deadline ... It's common for sanctioning orgs to set a deadline on negotiations when they order a mandatory, and equally common for them to extend that deadline if the promoters concerned ask them for more time.

GGG didn't want to force Canelo to vacate. He proved that by agreeing to allow him a voluntary defence against Khan.

The WBC wanted Canelo and GGG to fight for their title, both for the sanctioning fee and the prestige. The last thing the WBC wanted was for Canelo to vacate.

So GGG wanted the fight to happen, and the WBC wanted the fight to happen. If Oscar had also wanted it to happen, all he needed to do was to make GGG a reasonable offer and start negotiating on it. The WBC would have given them as much time as they needed to reach an agreement.

Despite the criticism they get, Roach and Bradley have a very good point about Canelo's stamina in this fight. Sure he has looked impressive lately but can he actually look as impressive as he has against Golovkin? Will Canelo be as fast and as sharp from Round 1 as Round 5 or 6? I too feel that Golovkin is being underestimated due to his fight with Jacobs. I can't think of any fighter at 160 or even 168 who would have an easy time with him. That speaks volumes of how good a fighter he actually is and how even better of a fighter Golovkin is. He beat the #2 guy in the division who was stylistically a nightmare for him and he still came out on top.

If Canelo gets caught flush by G when he is trying to counter look at his activity (looking sharp) for 4 or 5 rounds get changed to looking tentative.
