Getting pressure from a bigger man is way different it does tire you out Canelo got to fight a perfect fight to win.

If both guys could have lost they should have. It was terrible. Between that fight and Mayweather I just haven't ever felt when I'm watching Canelo I'm watching something special. Don't get me wrong a very good fighter but not special. But he gets his shot because I don't think you can beat Golovkin still by just being a good fighter. I'm sure plenty disagree but that's my sentiment.

If Canelo can't do much about it he'll have to step it up and try and get inside. I don't think he'll be dumb and pull another fight like he did against Mayweather. If he comes in it will heat up.

If Canelo is effective against GGG's jab and is either getting the better of the action or just even then Golovkin knows a close fight likely doesn't favor him. He will then ratchet up the pressure, pedal to the metal, and we should have a battle.

I do not think this will be a strategic fight like against Jacobs. I don't think Golovkin has the same concern about Canelo's power he had in that fight. These two will be in front of each other.

As a Golovkin fan I hope he doesn't wait 5 rounds in before he pushes on the gas if the jab isn't highly effective. I hope by round 3 he has determined if he needs to go with heavy pressure.
I get your point, but I suspect if Golovkin can command the distance with his jab, that he'll keep it up for at least 5 or 6. Canelo will be at his most dangerous in the first half of the fight, and if Golovkin can sit comfortably behind the jab, it will force Canelo to try hard to get past it. Golovkin's jab isn't a range-finder, its a semi power-punch and if he can keep landing it over and over, it could start busting up Canelo's face while at the same time forcing Canelo to fight at a pace he might not be comfortable with.

I still think he will wait till he senses weakness from Canelo from damage or tiredness before stepping it up, and I don't see Canelo slowing until around the 6th at the earliest. Then if Golovkin steps it up, the pace quickens at a time that Canelo is already feeling some tiredness and that's when Golovkin might have the advantage in Canelo's wheelhouse - but not before.

Canelo needs to get past the jab and lay siege to Golovkin's body to bring him down too, then its two tired dogs late on, it will be chin vs chin.

Golovkin's used to having street fights against guys half his size. CANELO is gonna ice this boy. A Carlos Baldomir type KO is coming.

If Golovkin tries to box off the backfoot for the first half of the fight, he most likely will be down 6 rounds to 0 or 5 rounds to 1 IMO.

Yes I totally agree. If he the jab is successful he won't deviate until possibly later in the fight. My thought was Canelo wouldn't sit there and continue to get shredded. Because Golovkin's jab isn't an Olympic jab it is a power jab that does real damage. IMO I've never seen Canelo deviate from his plan even when it isn't working well. But if he realized I'm getting beat and I need to get around this and mix it up then I think the fight warms up. So essentially I'm in agreement with what you are saying.

You're assessment is probably more likely to occur vs. mine. for when Golovkin would step up the pressure is probably more accurate. I simply would rather not wait too long and be down on the score cards 4-1 before really bringing the heat.

Using another sport as an analogy I'd rather be closer to the front running than stalking from too far back and then needing to close the gap in the final meters.

Should be fun to see how it all plays out.

He knows he's gonna mess Candelita up in a bad way and get rich in the process as well as becoming a star in the sport.

This nails it. Canelo has a fantastic uppercut, and the way Golovkin carries his guard and head, its a punch he's susceptible to. There is a zone that I keep calling Canelo's 'uppercut zone' that Golovkin needs to stay out of, especially when Canelo is on the ropes.

Canelo likes to fall back onto the ropes as he can rest a bit, and his defence and punch selection off the ropes is one of the best in the business, and that includes his uppercut.

Sanchez must have prepped Golovkin on what to do when Canelo goes to the ropes (if he didn't he's a dope), and looking forward to see how Golovkin manages it. He needs to be cagey to land his shots without taking too much return fire, and for me that's one of the most interesting parts of the fight - how Golovkin approaches Canelo on the ropes.

It wouldn't surprise me if he simply backed off in the first couple of rounds back to the centre of the ring, but his approach will change over time depending on what he's feeling coming back from Canelo.

Going to be a fascinating fight. Almost a chess match where tactical mistakes from either carry a price.
