[QUOTE=kafkod;18035571]I said use it as leverage...I never said K2 tried to force a purse bid. Huge difference. Secondly, how a fight is sold is dependent on the winning promoter. If that promotion decides to sell the fight as a ppv, there is ZERO requirement to negotiate a ppv split with either of the fighters. The winning promoter controls everything as they have assumed all financial risk for the event.

There is no way a promoter could spring a PPV on guys like Canelo and GGG without them knowing it was going to happen and negotiating their cut before they signed to fight.Comment

That may be technically true. But in reality, at least regarding the 2 fighters headlining the show, everything has to be down in writing, in the contracts, before a fight is signed. And the only way that happens is via negotiations.

The likelihood that either party would have signed said purse bid contract is unlikely.Comment

Reyesdelboxeo stick to making boxing gloves, you might have a clue there LMAO.
Danny Jacobs was bigger, more athletic, had a longer reach and hit harder than Canelo. AND HE LOST. Canelo is going to be a much easier opponent. Canelo likes to counter but GGG likes fighting guys who let his offense get going. Canelo has always been troubled by jabs and GGG has a hard and accurate one that he uses to set up his offense. GGG is no Kirkland. GGG hits harder. GGG knows how to use his jab to set up his offense. GGG knows how to cut off the ring. GGG is bigger and has a longer reach. GGG can take big punches. GGG has been active and GGG isn't the headcase Kirkland is. Canelo has not proven he can fight hard for 12 rounds without gassing. GGG has.
Canelo is going to get beat down.
Your thinking Cleto Reyes , yes the absolute best boxing gloves in the sports history.
According to you CANELO has no chance at all, so when he defeats Golovkin, I expect you to come on here and give him his credit and respect.Comment

I can't WAIT. IMO it's going 12 rounds. Which is what a LOT of experts predict. I got a bad with some GGGTard that Canelo will make it past round 6 lol.
Yeah, I'm really questioning that Jacobs win over Quillin??? He looked like dog sht. Against Johnson. Yes I know being so inactive doesn't help but Andrade and Russell Jr. Fight like 1x a year and they do alright. Floyd retired twice.
Yes it could very well go the distance. Wow they don't think CANELO can go at least 6 rounds LMAO. Yeah , I'd like to see CANELO vs. Jacobs in the future.Comment

They never offered a catchweight .. it looks like they offered to sign for a fight this September, if Canelo could stay in place as WBC champion until then.
Remember how, after the Canelo/Khan fight, Jose Sulaiman put out a statement saying the WBC would not order a Canelo/GGG title fight immediately, if both sides agreed to more interim fights?
It must have been Oscar's offer to sign for a Sept 2017 fight - giving Canelo time to "grow" into a MW - which prompted Sulaiman to release that statement.
After GGG responded to it by saying "no more step asides" ... that was when Canelo vacated.
Nope. There is no chance they didn't ask GGG for a catchweight.Comment

I wouldn't say Canelo has no chance at all. But I do think Jacobs was a much tougher matchup.Comment

Fair enough , I can agree to disagree. Let's keep hyping this fight up, and encourage the masses to go to , & order this Epic PPV Showdown! Have fun & enjoy fightweek & fightnight. I'm pumped up , can't wait.Comment

You mean to tell me that you think canelo fights for titles? When you are at canelos level, titles don't mean as much anymore, he wants to fight the best with or without titles. Your logic is null. If that was the case he could of fought bjs for the wbo because he was mandatory to his title after he moved up from 54 as the champComment
