Oscar was just on the breakfast club and mentioned that he doesn't like fighters who don't have a promoter and just move around fighting on promoters shows...to me this was a jab to Mikey, if someone is gonna fight cotto for his last outing on a golden boy card , it has to be a golden boy fighter. Wether that'd be canelo or lemiux

And I do think GGG is going to stop Canelo btw. But Canelo isnt giving up the weight Cotto was giving up.

Like I stated above, if Cotto fights GGG or David in December, he'll get stopped (hopefully not hurt).
Cotto couldn't even phase Canelo let alone gave him yell. Don't know what fight he saw???

Career 154 lber Alcine beat Lemuix. Just saying... But Lemuix has gotten a lot better since then and seems to have a heck of a time even making 160.

Let's be real now; Canelo/Golovkin is going to be a war and whoever wins won't be able to turn around and fight in December and be at 100%. That takes out GGG and Alvarez as potential candidates for Cotto's last fight. Cotto is on his way out and is looking for the financial security for his family meaning more than likely he doesn't risk a Lemieux or Charlo showdown because it would be a low-reward, high-risk fight for him. Mikey Garcia is just too small unfortunately so that fight doesn't happen and Cotto is adamant about not coming down to anything below 150. I honestly think the best and only fight for Cotto at this stage would be a trilogy with Margarito. Yes, Margarito is shot, and just a shell of his former self but the rivalry itself would sell the fight giving Cotto a solid win and purse to end his illustrious career. Just my two cents.

Ricans are still salty til this day. They still believe Cotto beat Canelo. God, how I love them YouTube comments. I love to shut them down err day. Sorry, but Cotto didn't do shyt to Canelo. Canelo was toying with that boy all night.

None of these promoters like fighters who are free agents.

That moves the balance of power in the boxer's favor and they prefer to have the fighters by the balls.

Expect Mikey to have a hard time getting big fights. They want to make an example out of him so no other boxers get the same idea.

Cotto just fcking said in an interview, that he wanting the winner of GGG-Canelo didnt came from him.

But people keep pushing that lie as if he said it himself lol.

Most likely Golden boy is protecting his investment til the end.
Fighting Mikey is a lose lose scenario.

to be the face of boxing in their respective era, once was enough... because of that, we now have all this other boxers trying to follow the same path... and I'm also talking about all the diva like demands, entrance into the ring, ring size, glove size, referee, judges, etc.... it's all crap... Cotto uses that excuse to justify everything he does... "Paquiao and Floyd did that to me, now I'm the "A" side" ... it's all BS... just retire and let the boxers that really want to fight, fight... I truly believe we were deprived of many legendary boxing matches because of the diva like symptoms this boxers displayed in the negotiation.... whatever happened to the best fight the best in their prime.... all out the window with this clowns... all fighters have my respect but dang... I see this clowns getting millions for circus like matches and the little guys who truly are putting everything on the line through hard work, get little to nothing... that should upset not only me as a fan and the boxers but everyone who knows anything about boxing!!!!

Completely agree... this is a win - win match for both Cotto and Margarito... this match would make more money for both than any other match out there... the other one i could see making sense for ready to call it quits fighters would be Cotto vs Pacquiao... Yes I know about Freddy... but Freddy would definitely decide to be on Pacquiao's side if this was to happen... Hell, Freddy would be cashing out with a juicy paycheck as well... anyway... hope to see cotto retire soon against a worthy opponent!!! and not some predictable win nobody!!!

Yeah I think that's probably the smartest move for Cotto unless he really wants to prove himself against a Lemieux or Charlo. Pacquiao rematch would be since both are at the end of their careers and the fight would be a little more even now than it was when they met in 2009. But yeah I agree, I'd like to see Cotto go out with a ****.

They want Lemieux so they can sell him vs Canelo fight. I'm not going to lie, I think it would be an exciting fight. Cotto is not a true MW though, he just got lucky on being fed a new born calf in Martinez with his knee.
