This coach is part of the reason Conor lost. They should have prepared for everything.

his comments show that even in hindsight, they still don't fully realize all of what happened to them, or why. in his view, they were winning the 1st four rounds by working a strategy that they worked on in the gym. in reality, Floyd was being patient, knowing the awkward nature of his opponent. meanwhile, every step, stance, reaction, hand movement, twitch- hell, even every breath McGregor took in the ring, gave Floyd more information each time. then, Floyd always knew that an MMA guy who fights 5 rounds max, would not be able to box 12 fast paced rounds with one camp under his belt. so while his coach thinks they were out-witting Floyd for the 1st four rounds, McGregor was probably already studied and completely figured by the 1st round. so the strategy was to box McGregor until he starts to fade, & then fight himComment

i think these guys really thought Conor could just walk up and knock Floyd into oblivion with one punch.
They really didn't plan for Floyd to adjust his tactics? When he's done that in literally nearly every fcuking fight for the past 10 years?
This coach should be fired. Thats pathetic.Comment

Lol. That's exactly what they wanted. It's obvious they were not ready for floyd at all. I feel like they seriously underestimated him and I can't believe I'm even saying that. Connor was not expecting floyd to be that good neither was his team. But that's why you hire a ****ing boxing traineri think these guys really thought Conor could just walk up and knock Floyd into oblivion with one punch.

😂 so funny floyd gave Connor a chance by walking to him to make the fight sellable and to gain a little credit from the mainstream because connor didn't look absolutely lost, but cmon it's obvious Connor doesn't pack a punch in boxing, I didn't see him put his full weight behind any shotComment

😂😂 great post , the funniest part it's that some ppl actually believed this“When the two of them walk to the middle, one of them has to take a back step. If Floyd takes a back step, which I believe he will, then I predict round six,” Kavanagh said on The MMA Hour. “That’s my prediction on it. I think for the first five rounds, he will back up, he will lie on the ropes the way he does, he will cover up and try to just absorb, and try to wear Conor down. That’s how I think he’ll approach the fight.
“If he doesn’t take a back step, and we’ll all see it — we’ll all see their feet, we’ll all see who walks backwards — if he walks forward and exchanges, it’ll be a one-round fight. It’ll be over in a minute. Because he’d be fighting in such a way that’s not normal to him, he won’t have had time to develop the skillset for an aggressive exchanging fighter. Like I said, I didn’t know a lot about Floyd before this, but I did watch his fights for his defensive work. So for him to go in there and try to trade with Conor and not walk backwards, would be so alien to him but so normal for Conor — that’s exactly what Conor’s the best at — he’ll be unconscious in a minute."Comment
