It looks like Wlad needs Toney more than vice-versa, so I'm not surprised Toney rejected the 1.5m offer. I wouldn't be surprised if another offer goes to Toney soon as it is a good fight for Klitschko.

But lets get one thing straight - Toney doesn't deserve more. he failed a drugs test against Ruiz, which is more serious than most posters here think, and he got unfairly ratcheted up to face Rahman and got a questionable draw. Its only his name and mouth that get him even a 1.5m offer.

I'd rather see Wlad fight one of the titlists or another top contender, but the titlists are busy, as are many top contenders, and Toney is the only money opponent out there. Hopefully once the next round of HW matchups are dealt with we can get some big fights going.

Bozo - agreed that these reports sound sketchy from the outset anyway

thats offer is a joke to somebody who's had as many championships and great fights as toney.

Lewis probably could, (certainly could have done previously) but he's happily retired - just flirts with the idea that he could come back and knock out the titlists.

Fact of the matter is - Wlad is the no.1 HW at the moment, and he should try to unify when he gets the opportunity. In the meantime, I've no problem with him fighting Toney.

...Exactly, and he knows what he would have been in for. Toney is no fool and he isn't about to end his career by fighting Wlad when he can get a couple more shots with a couple more pretenders. If I'm not mistaken a ton of other posters said that Toney would never accept an offer to fight Wlad.

It's no difference here, except Wlad's fans are pathetic. They're the only fans (maybe Mayweather nuthuggers too) that don't really care who their favorite fighter fights.

                That's sad.

...Has anyone clued this dumbass to the fact that Brewster is recovering from a detached retina and won't be available for a long time? I suspect he has no idea as he really doesn't like boxing and just throws out random **** that he comes up with on his own. Perhaps Wlad should sit back and wait for a guy who just got the crap beat out of him in his last fight and is recovering from a potential career ending injury. Yeah, that's a great idea.

If it's a down time in the HW division by most accounts and Toney the future Hall of Famer who just had a draw with Rahman while out of shape landed the far cleaner shot's. He's WK best chance at boosting his name in the US and he'll be favored and have numerous advantages over Toney, I don't blame Toney for not taking that offer because who else can WK fight at the present time that would benefit him like this? Even if you don't like Toney you must admit any HW who hasn't loss yet(At HW) and is nearing the end of a great career isn't going to take that offer. He's taking the risk and is older and closer to the end and he made more then that in his last fight it doesn't seem crazy to me that he wants a respectful offer. I don't want to hear look how he looked last fight, he still got a draw with 1 of the best HW's and landed the cleaner shots so if he's so bad then what does that say for the div. He also hasn't loss yet at HW wether you like him or not.

The money is a little weak, but Toney should take the opportunity if he really wants to be known as the top heavy today. He has talked his **** about both Klitschko's for a while now,So step up James.

he wouldnt take the fight if they offered him 10 million. he knows its a stylistic nightmare for him and I dont blame him one bit for rejecting the fight. he's 38 yrs old now and can still hope for a rematch with rahman or maskeav if he beats rahman
