I for one am a huge Klitschko fan and I have to say that $1.5 million is too low. I wouldn't blame Toney for not taking that price because he can get that for a lower risk fight if he waits for the wbc fight. For one, it will probably be Toney's last fight. For two, Klitschko will profit big time and gain a lot of respect with the American public. Its a win/win for Wlad and a win lose for Toney. Wlad needs to offer atleast $3 million to be fair for both.
There it is. I agree. We all know that if Wlad's camp really wants this fight, they'll offer Toney more, then we'll see if he accepts.
It doesn't look that bad when you consider that Byrd was the champ though. I don't think the purse offered is that far off the mark really, given the recent string of events surrounding Toney.

I believe Toney received 2.1 Million for the Rahman fight, and Byrd just got 2.5 Million fighting Wlad.
This is a low ball offer, and I'm sure if the fight is seriously being discussed there will be counter offers made.
********** loves to fire things up with these reports about money.
The location would be another key in the purse alotments for this fight. Are they talking Germany or the US?
I'll be looking for the 'more details to follow' part. This is premature heresay.
Would Toney take another fight with Rahman for 1.5 Mil? Most likely so. So I guess it's a smart thing to do to avoid a big loss for just 1.5 Mil. In other words it's not the Money Offered, it's the money offered to fight WLAD
He got $2mil for fighting Rahman. The rematch willbe a bigger draw given the closeness of the last fight, therefore the purse will likely be larger.
I found it very difficult to highlight one area of this absolutely ******ed post...as strong a puncher as Peter...you obviously don't watch boxing at more than a leisurely pace because if you had one brain cell, you would know that this tiny statement is the most idiotic I've seen tonight. Please excuse yourself from the thread ASAP
explain to me how you have proof that peter hits harder than rahman
this should be good
you cant argue with my post because you know im right
all you got is "oh u got 1 brain cell thats idiotic i dont know why but **** it is"
oh wait i get it ur so far up klitschkos ******* that rahman cant possibly hit as hard cause one of the klitschkos actually fought peter
so ud probably say byrd hits harder than rahman too
and obviously ross purrity and corrie sanders are two of the most devastating punchers probably top 5 all time in boxing right **** i mean geez if they managed to stop a klitschko they gotta be
toney probably hits at least as hard as ****ing ross purrity and is definitely faster than anybody wlad has faced
u denying this?
wlad has a ****ty chin and toney is an accurate puncher
u denying this?
toney would land punches on wlad
u denying this too?
wait wlad beat byrd so this is PROOF that he would beat toney obviously cause they fight so much the same that u cant even tell toney and byrd apart hell they are black so i guess jdizzle really cant tell them apart right u think they all look the same?
seriously though tell me what was so idiotic and wrong with my argument
this should take you quite a few hours to come up with some bull****
start pming your ebuddys for help
"tell him toney did steroids and hes fat and wlad is white so white power baby wlad aint losing to no ni- well dont say that cause then well get caught so instead of the n word call toney thug or gangster yeah thatll fool them" pbds
im the casual fan? bet you cant even name more than 5 or so active fighters below 130 without reading a site lmao and i bet u believe 140 is still the best division in boxing and whatever dan rafael has to say
If Toney fought Klitschko and won then he wold get much more credit than he would for fighting Rahman, IMO. Having said that, he'd get sparked in about nine, ten. I think Rahman will beat him next time too. For me, a much better fight is Klitschko/Rahman
"TONEY TURNS DOWN $1.5M TO FIGHT KLITSCHKO, WLAD TO RETURN ON NOVEMBER 11!
By G. Leon
Over the weekend James "Lights-Out" Toney, in a somewhat explicit manner, told **********.com that he is not pleased with and will not be accepting the $1.5M or "chump change" on the table for him to challenge IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at Madison Square Garden on November 11. There will be much more to follow, including a full one on one interview with Toney. REMEMBER WHERE YOU HEARD IT FIRST! (10:14 PM)."-**********
Who can he fight right now that will bring in the viewers and at the same time fight someone he and his handlers knows he can beat, a tune up so to speak, because that is what it would be...a tuneup, Vlad could retire a well known fighter soon to be a HOF'er, make a few bucks, get the rounds in and then move on to bigger and better things. All Vlad has to is go to Toney's body and its over. As long as he doesnt get caught with one of Toney's sneaky punches...it makes good business sense...what would Vlad get..?...a couple 3 million and keep his belt and get some rounds in and make a great paycheck...then take on the number 1's and 2's across the board...try to unify....
