I've heard that but several of Haymon's guys are "free agents". Jacobs, Spence, Khan all come to mind. (Notice these are guys who've fought outside of the PBC umbrella). They don't have a promoter that they're signed with either. There are quite a few of his fighters that are "free" to work outside of the umbrella. I just doubt they'd be putting this much juice behind him without assurances. And his mention of Showtime last week seemed pretty telling to me.

I think they keep saying that because it sounds good. But I seriously doubt he fights on a card for Hearn or Oscar (never TR lol) without a co-promoter (who'd most likely be Dibella or Schaefer). Those guys mentioned above have fought on cards for outsiders with no co-promoter. But i see Mikey as a Broner type asset (with much more upside). He's probably their greatest revenue generator outside of Thurman, and Broner.

Okay sounds about right. I wish all this ****ing promoters would put their ego to the side and work together. So many great fights not being made cause of the bullshet!
I think Crawford is on his way to being P4P number 1. He's one of my favorite fighters to watch.
Would love to see him fight Thurman or Spence Jr. Damn those would be great fights!

First of all, before we even talk about weight, Cotto is a better fighter than Mikey. Does everything better. Mikey gets beaten soundly. This should be a last resort fight for Cotto. If Mikey had some wins against some more notable names, the fight on it's surface would probably be very appealing to casuals. Victories over Postol, Mattysse, Provodnokov, would definitely have made this a more interesting prospect (on the surface).
