WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson is scheduled to defend his title, but there is now word on the opponent. He is currently under an order to make a mandatory defense against Eleider Alvarez. But in several recent interviews, Stevenson made it clear that there wasn't any money in fighting Alvarez, so he would rather face WBA "regular' champion Badou Jack or IBF, WBA Super, WBO champion Andre Ward.

I mean the reality is more people WOULD rather see Stevenson vs Jack or Stevenson vs Ward I imagine.

The problem is Stevenson has sat on the title for 2 years & not fought any champion & Alvarez has been waiting so fight whoever you want cuz I'm sure Ward or Jack would fight Adonis with or without the WBC title, but Alvarez should get the next title shot vs Adonis or some other contender for the vacant belt.

Can someone from this site please edit the the last part of the title of this article from "but against who?" to "but who cares?". Adonis completely dropped the ball, nobody outside of Canada cares who he fights at this point. I guess a fight with Kovalev would still be good, but its not as hot as it once was, and we all know he won't fight Ward.

Oh great Adonis mom showed up.

And I got no doubt Ward or Jack would fight Stevenson with or without a title, but I got serious doubts Adonis would fight ANYONE who's a top 5 guy at this point of his career. I'm not sure he really wants to fight Alvarez, Ward or Jack.

Now he's getting cornered so he's just trying to cash out in the best paying fight he can get it seems like & hoping he can still beat a legit guy since its been so long since he's fought a legit guy.
