Theres soooooo many things wrong with boxing I dont even know where to start. All of the points have pretty much been addressed in this thread though: promoters, network issues, biased scoring, bad refs, fights taking too long to be made, fighters refusing to fight mandos unless it suits them, and sanctioning bodies allowing certain fighters to do whatever they want, the list goes on. the fact ufc is thriving certainly doesnt help boxing and they certainly do have a better system going on over there especially when it comes to forcing their guys to fight the best.

One of the biggest problems is that casuals just dont trust boxing. I couldnt begin to tell you how many times Ive heard "well boxings rigged anyway thats why i cant get into it" from my friends or just people in general

No, he's definitely wrong. I'd say the majority of boxing fans are Trump supporters. Bob has never posted on these forums or East Side Boxing, or any popular boxing forum.

I definitely feel like MMA is more popular with black people these days than boxing. So this white power thing with MMA hasn't made any sense to me ever with its roots largely from South America from the 90's on, but particularly in recent years when I've noticed growth with non-white MMA fighters + the fans.
The poll is not surprising to me at all. I've brought it up a few times before but for some reason people keep ignoring the influence of video games. That UFC game has been a huge hit since it came out about ten years ago. It completely replaced Fight Night. And in my view was much more addictive than the boxing and wrestling games that came before it. I think the combo of having real fighters and variability in moves made it attractive. Next to the NBA and NFL games, it's probably the game I see black kids play the most.

There are a lot of 20 and 30 year-olds who came of age being hooked on that UFC video game. When i was high school and college, my barber and his kids played that game all day.

There was recently a video on FB that went viral with this kid getting submitted in the UFC video game and crying. The comment section was full off people who had recognized the audio from the game and were making references to the UFC. I thought that was a crazy example of brand awareness. Boxing doesn't have that type of imprint on culture.

Boxing has legacy and nostalgia that comes from old heads. It's like baseball for the lower class of the US imo. People don't really actively watch it, but they have a lot of respect for it.

Arum is a bigger enemy to boxing. In-house garbage fights.

Boxing has ****s like Arum that sign with TV networks and his fighters don't fight others from other promoters. That'd be OK if he had massive talent pool like the UFC but he doesn't. What results is 99% garbage fights.

Bob Arum is a Cancer to boxing! In-house fights, paid off judges, fixed fights... The UFC has nothing to do with how well or how poorly boxing does.
