over-rated Cotto was knocking out the same fools that Golovkin was knocking out

    at catchweight, sure

which is why Mr " 154-168 " totally refused to negotiate on weight with the lil old faded 153lb superstar

that is the most bizarre thing I have ever seen

oh, aside from Pacquiao killing a superfight by refusing random blood tests

aside from that..... a guy who insists that he can beat everyone from 154-168 totally refusing to negotiate on weight with a 153lb SUPERSTAR who could setup his kids for life..... is the 2nd most bizarre thing I have ever seen within the sport of boxing

Golovkin's goal should have been the biggest possible money-fight, which at that time was Cotto..... nobody else would have turned down that opportunity

in this situation i expect the golovkin fanboys to say "geale is a smart man..he knows...he got destroyed by golovkin"

this is the same guy that cotto destroyed in 4? welterweight miguel cotto?
Cotto is no WW, and Geale was dead man walking at 157. After ggg already wasted him.

Cotto gamed Geale for a payday. GGG broke his will.

If Cotto was really the Geale killer you pretend, wtf did did did he he he fa fa sta star stutter like a mother ****er when asked if he'd give GGG that mandatory shot. I mean he was blasting folks at 160 wasn't he?

BASed off of what, the Jacobs fight.

Of course Jacobs wasn't the same.

But if that's the theory, what about Ishida.

Pirog went 12 with Ishida, arguably lost the first four round, and was a war the whole fight. 10 months later Golovkin almost killed Ishida, only guy to every KO Ishida, who is now a hw.

he looked to be a very good fighter with a nice fan-friendly style, but in truth he only ever beat a green Danny Jacobs before struggling with the Argentinian journeyman Maciel

if he had not beaten Jacobs, nobody would be calling him great based off the Maciel fight

his career never really kicked off, and we saw far too little of him to make any lofty claims about greatness

a real shame, he looked sharp/skilled, with a lot of talent
I do agree he was a little off against Maciel, even a bit lethargic, but he did well after that in his 2 last fights...Maybe that's where the back problems started..

For what it's worth, I had never seen a Russian fight with the Philly style, shoulder roll, switch hitting and all. The guy had groove! Definitely had potentiel. Is he overrated? Maybe. But there was something there for sure.

Oscar has taken him to the slaughter house to be slaughtered.
He had plenty of chances to fight a legit MW instead of hiding at 155 for so long. GGG is battle hardened and Canelo has been wrapped in cotton wool. That could be the deciding factor when they fight.

that is a fair point, maybe he was struggling in the Maciel fight

we all saw how Wade/Brook prepared Golovkin for Jacobs

that fight has 12 HARD rounds written all over it

              keyword = HARD

              we will see

If he fought Jacobs or Lemieux there's a better than even chance this fight would never have happened.
