Yep. In combat more styles = a better fighting style ultimately as it gives you fewer weak points.

Holm has been a kickboxer from day 1.

She started off as an amateur kickboxer and has always been trained by a kickboxing trainer...she trains at a mma gym ffs. The fact that she competed on that level at boxing is a testament to her talent and how weak the level of competition in women's boxing is overall.

This as f#ck. People love to act like Holm is a straight boxer. She loved kickboxing & did that before anything else. She got into boxing cuz she quickly found out, like everyone else does in kickboxing, that there is no money in kickboxing. Then I believe she flipped to MMA cuz she was seeing Ronda getting paydays in MMA that she couldn't make in boxing. Granted the top paid males in boxing make more then the top paid males in MMA, but on the womans side the the tip top females in MMA make more than the tip top females in boxing....or certainly in the US thats been proven to be true as I believe that boxing chick from Holland or wherever is getting 7 digit paydays & is up there with the top MMA girls.

One thing MMA groupies forget , talent , there is MUCH less talent in MMA in comparison to boxing , mainly because of money and amateur system (Olympics is a big thing for young athletes).
When you are a young top athlete what sport are you going to take ? probably the one with the most money and fame and thats NOT MMA , they are having hard times getting real talent , their HW champ is a firefighter , their biggest star was a plumber 5 years ago , they just dont have the top talent.
The best Boxer/MMA fighter right now from a talent and potential pov is probably playing football/basketball/baseball , thats where the money and fame are.
MMA with their really weak pay structure cannot get the top guys , their best talent is at the smaller weights where those fighters couldnt do anything else , not boxing (not good enough) not the big sports (too small).
Chuck was in the golden era of MMA , but in reality he is a d level athlete and thats fact.
You look at UFC current stars , its Conor and thats it , nothing coming up , they sold their soul to promote Conor and now he is their god , the promotion screwed up big time , he does what he wants , and their main selling point of matchmaking is done for a while , they let him fight whoever he wants , not defend his titles , they are letting GSP come back from retirment and fight again for a title , i think they are declining BIG TIME.

Ain't nobody trying to arm bar in the streets. most street fights are stand up punches, if there's no weapon involved. any real MMA fighter will tell you that MMA is not good for street fighting. Would be a hell of a lot of laughs watching someone try to grapple in a street fight. This coming from someone who had more street fights than I can remember.

Stop it. Jon jones has a loss due to disqualification for using downward elbows which is against the rules. Unlike floyd whos never tested positive for steroids jones has twice. Lol idk I'm not to familiar with the women's division. I do know she won by knockout. I just think if the MMA fighter doesn't take the boxer down within the first 45econds then they are in trouble. Yea Holms lost her other fights I still don't think that takes away from the fact that a boxer won in MMA.

lol There's no real money in female boxing either. No one gives a damn about watching women box. Holm has always said she takes pride in never being motivated by money.
