The key to Canelo/GGG will be the pace.

I think GGG sets the pace though with the ramrod jab and walks Canelo down all night and uses a body attack to break him eventually. Canelo is going to land some big shots himself though as GGG comes in. If GGG can take those punches easily then Canelo is toast. The Canelo bodywork will decide if he's in this fight going into the later rounds. He's gotta slow GGG down from walking in
True but from what I've seen Canelo can't fight at a fast pace the entire fight and tends to lay on the ropes and let's the other guy tee off.

If it's a fast pace I see it as give and take. Once Canelo tires it's going to be my turn/your turn type of fight.

GGG will work behind that jab and then take it from there. He also tends to fade a bit in the later rounds but his engine is just as good as Canelo's.

Canelo is an excellent counter puncher and if he can dominate the exchanges then he controls the fight by making Golovkin think before he punches.

This will be a war of attrition. GGG by stoppage in round 11 or 12, by a body shot.

A slow pace will favor Canelo. If he can make Golovkin miss a lot it won't matter if the pace is fast. I still Golovkin's best opportunity is to box like he did against Lemieux.

GGG is going to put on a clinic on jabbing and distance control. At some point it will turn into a brawl when canelo's corner feels he's being outboxed.

He's going to need to get Golovkins respect early on (think body shots) and maintain a controlled pace in route to a UD.

GGG on the other hand, will have to establish a more frentic and high volume pace to shell up Canelo and attempt to drown him out. I'm expecting a lot of jabs and throw away punches to set up the bigger stuff in a high volume assault.

Who do you think controls the pace better?
GGG's ring IQ is levels above canelo's it's not even funny. Only chance canelo has in this fight is to take it on the inside and try to push ggg back for a ko win. He won't slip the jab though.

              3 paces:

              1. Golovkin wins before 4th round
              2. he wins between the 4th and the 9th
              3. he wins either on the 10th or 11th.

              Nothing else to see here.

GGG is not going to slow down just because Canelo hits him with some hard punches to the head or body or both. GGG has fought punchers like Stevens, Lemieux and Jacobs before and he doesn't slow his pace for them. He has never been knocked down as an amateur or a pro and he takes hard punches very well. I think he will set his normal fast high pressure pace, coming forward and throwing bombs to head and body. Canelo will have to deal with GGG's hard attack as best he can because he won't be able to slow him down. No one has yet.

Canelo can fight at a high pace but if he doesnt hurt GGG enough to make him hesitant after those stretches, it's gonna backfire on him because he can't do it for 3 minutes. a slow pace isn;t really all that good for him because he has slow feet and GGG will be touching him....Canelo will fight in spurts like always and that's why GGG has to be favored...he just needs to survive the spurts and chip away at Canelo once the spurt stops....by round 10, Canelo will be ripe for the KO...but GGG is gonna have to be able to take punishment in those spurts, especially to the body...

I have no dog in this fight.
But I would prefer Canelo to win being the underdog in the matchup.
GGG is not only the bigger, but stronger fighter.
This would probably resemble the Lemieux fight.
Saul would be shocked how difficult to parry GGG's jab is.
I would be beyond shocked if Alvarez even manages to last the distance.

Candelita looking like the hulk right about now. Pretty much any pace will be too much for the diva, she'll be tired in 4 or 5 rds. GGG will break her down with that jab then start beating the body to a pulp. TKO/KO for GGG in rds 5-8.
