If Crawford comes to the ring at 160 then why wouldn't it make sense middleweights rehydrate to 170-180?

I think most people saw GGG fight a Super MW, not a cruiserweight. His team claimed Jacobs was 176 pounds the day of the fight, which is what Ward weighed in some of his 168's fights.

He might have been 174 tho, but still he had a big size advantage.
You know they weighed him, they said specifically 176lbs at 8am. Somehow he lost 2 pounds from the morning until fight night, come on. My guess he was about 180lbs.

so he was only 9 pounds heavier than Maidana when he fought Mayweather?

If he gained 20 pounds he would have fatigued in the later rounds

The ERA of excuse making. Fighters even go as low as using the excuses that their fans make for them Publicly. Jacobs gave him hell because Andre Rozier and a little from Virgil Hunter, helped Jacobs come up with a excellent Gameplan! The refusal to give him Props comes from those within the Boxing Media and Fans who made GGG seem invincible and they want to keep that picture in their minds intact that he is so they make excuses as to why GGG didn't look as good for Jacobs compared to his other fights

That's an opinion. He looked in phenomenal shape to me. He had already put on 16 lbs, I doubt another 4 would have been the difference.

What doesn't make any sense is his team specifically said he weighed 176 lbs at 8am. We have no reason to doubt that. Conte estimated he'd be 178 to 180 lbs by the evening. That gain makes sense. What doesn't make sense is losing 2 pounds from the morning to the evening on the day of the fight. But maybe I'll learn something new. Maybe there is some actual evidence showing Jacobs did weigh 174 lbs on the night of the fight. Doesn't HBO offer fight night weigh in?

I'm not actually saying Jacobs is lying but without some evidence it seems to run counter intuitive to gaining weight the day of the fight.
