It is a shame we have such biased posters here.
No he wasn't. You seem pretty biased yourself.

what beating are you talking about? Feather fisted Ward has never given a beating to anyone. Kov was just robbed twice

Ahh haha. You lost your dang mind son!

I thought Kov kinda got f#cked on the 2nd fight cuz he got PPV money over any guaranteed money?

But yea he doesn't really seem like a flashy guy or a $250k watch kinda guy so I'd assume the money he made previous to the last fight was well spent or well saved.

He hardly collected 3 belts and lost them.

Vs Ward he was at the short end of the stick in the first fight- frustrating, and got koed in the rematch-very frustrating.

Now Ward has the belts and he won't fight him a third time, Stevenson is on his "Sven Ottke" run in Canada,
so I dunno what is left for Kov expect to get a title shot at CW but again, all CW titilists are stacked in a tournament lol

            Kovalev is fcked up.
Sup BB. Yea its a tough comeback unless Ward goes away I think. There's really no reason for a third fight now & I can't imagine Ward would welcome one unless it was a mandatory situation.

Idk if a CW run is smart. Thats a big ass jump up in weight. But I suppose if he's jumping up now would be the time since everyone is in that tournament & its possible for him to win one or two fights in the meantime vs lesser guys not in the tournament or maybe a guy who loses in the QF's & then be lined up to fight the winner of the WBSS tournament for a nice payday.

At this point it might just be best for him to call it a career doe if his heart isn't in it.

Kovalev is a big ass LHW, I know he's one of those fighters who rehydrates +20 pounds like Canelo, Connor or Broner in the lower weights and like all of them has stamina issues past 6.

So maybe it would be smart.

Honnestly, if Bellew who went life and death with Cleverly and Chilemba at 175 could do so well at CW+HW vs Haye, why not Kovalev or Ward by the way.
Bellew was probably too big and weight drained at LHW but Kovalev is a much more skilled fighter. And those big guys won't target a lot his body.

At 175 maybe he could target Badou's WBA title.
Jack vs Kova would be a nice clash of ****ers lol

Kova should try to get another title+ payday then call it a day.

But as you said, if his hearth is in it.

Funny how despite having 20 close rounds ending with a nice stoppage, Ward became an ATG P4P number 1 while Kovalev is a bum a quitter who needs to retire lol

We boxing fans are the worst fans I swear ...

Sh^t man Kov is 34 doe. Like I keep saying most of the great fighters we talk about were shot to sh^t at 35. We've kinda been fooled into thinking Klitschko, Floyd, Manny & best of all Bhop are the new rule instead of the exceptions to the rule. Its a young mans game & primes are usually short.

So Kov isn't no spring chicken & its highly likely we've seen the best of him & this isn't a sport you should wanna stick around in past your best days. So idk if its that harsh to suggest it might be time for him to close the door on boxing. With the way he went out + his age I'd be suggesting that it might be time for a lot of guys in a similar situation.

Not to say he won't stick around for a payday or two or that thats even a bad idea cuz I understand at a certain point this becomes a business more than a sport for guys & Kov has surely reached that point.

Agreed, I was just talking about how all of sudden he became a bum and a quitter after those 2 fights despite beating arguably the P4P king once and being stopped in a rematch by the ref (not really quitting).

Not a good move for Team TOMATO KAN Krusher, IMO. This is the last fight on Kovalev's HBO contract, correct? If so, seems to me like HBO is hedging its bet..
