I always wondered what would happen to this case. Because I recall Trout bringing this issue up during that time, and then all the articles regarding it stopped, and I assumed they wouldn't pursue it anymore. Now two years later he's filing a lawsuit.

I'm not exactly sure what happened but it was awfully convenient that Liam Smith faced John Thompson for the belt, rather than Austin Trout. Probably had something to do with Frank Warren writing a cheque to the WBO.

Hopefully Trout is successful and the WBO bites the dust.

This lawsuit is Haymon's response to Arum's ESPN deal.

        Let the games begin.

It would be great if they all were sued and their were one champ per weight it won't happen I could settle for 2 but 5/6 is way too many but no governing body it's all payola corruption

Arum and the WBC had already worked out a deal for the WBC to just come back as the UBC. So it may not have mattered.

And if Haymon manages to bankrupt the WBO, Arum and the WBO may try to come back under a new name, but it would be much tougher to do.

Fair play to him if he wins that's good for him but I wonder how it will affect boxing? I also think it's Haymon vs arum move and I'm not too fond of arum so I kinda hope trout wins
