I also think top 5 but like with floyd this is a touchy subject because everyone is in their feelings nobody likes giving credit to either fighter

Who has de la hoya beaten? He has lost to every top fighter he faced and every big fight he has been in.

The top 10 is incredibly hard to crack and I don't think it's paying any of them respect to put Canelo in the top 10 no matter how he beats GGG. He'd have to turn back some strong challenges also like Charlo, Jacobs and rule the division for a while. He'd probably crack the top 15 and that's a hell of an accomplishment.

Seeing people say top 5 tells me it's a lack of knowledge of history and/or total prisoner of the moment mentality.

He gets into Top 10... him beating GGG would shock me but if he wins by KO, his ranking might go up even higher. The manner in which he wins the fight would be a factor as well.

HE still has Chavez, sanchez, FINito, marquez, morales, and barrera ahead of him so cracking top 5 is tough.

                Top 5 my azz lol

Pernell Whitaker, Hector Camacho, Fernando Vargas, Genaro Hernandez (If you give Floyd credit for beating him, Oscar deserves it even moreso).

Then there was Ike Quartey, who some feel was robbed. But, if you are going to make the argument for Quartey being robbed the you have to consider the argument that Oscar was robbed versus Mosley in one of their fights, Trinidad, and to many Mayweather. In fact, Oscar in his declining years past his prime faired better than Canelo versus Floyd.

I'd be shocked if he pulls of the upset. Probably top 5.

It's hard to say because there have been so many great Mexican fighters. He would be right up there with the best of them but I don't know exactly where. I don't think he is as good as Jose Napoles who was the best fighter I ever saw in his prime. I don't think he is as good as a prime Chavez or Sanchez.
