Floyd is 30 years old in boxing years

Indeed, Floyd is a young 40 as boxers go. He never took a lot of punishment given his defensive safety-first style. At 40, he is way younger in boxing years than the likes of Pacquiao and Roman Gonzalez who are younger but have a more fan-friendly style.Comment

Anyone paying attention to the rounds Mayweather "lost" would have noticed his complete lack of punch output, he threw less than 10 punches that I saw in both rounds 1 and 2 for example. That's not an accident, it's also not because Old Man Floyd couldn't pull the trigger. It's because he took it easy against an overmatched Conor.
Floyd's always going to be in supreme conditioning but even considering how little he's been touched all his career, there's a big difference between the reflexes and reaction times of 40 year olds vs 30 year olds.
There's a reason there are more 20 year olds competing professionally in video games like CounterStrike and DOTA than 30 year olds. Reflexes.Comment

This is an embarrassment of a post. This isn't a song. 40 isn't the new 30 in boxing. Floyd has lost a lot of speed and his flair for throwing punches. But his ring IQ is unmatched and one of the best thinking mans fighters in the whole sport. Neither guy was embarrassed. And Floyd doesn't need excuses for how he looks in that ring because a win is a win. So take your fake ass phony criticism and shove it up your sorry ass. Wimp ass post, lmao.Floyd stans keep making excuses for him(even though he won) because they know he got embarrassed on saturday. He went 10 rounds with a rookie making his pro debut and even looked out boxed at times.
But this excuse that Floyd is 40 and that's why Conor was countering Floyd so easily in the early rounds is bull****.
Foreman ko'd Moorer for the title at 45 years old. Hopkins won a world title at 46.
Floyd doesn't drink or smoke which is the #1 cause of physical deterioration. He's also taken the least amount of punishment for the amount of fights that he has of any boxer ever. In terms of boxing years, Floyd is 30 years old at most.
No excuses for his failure to stop Conor in the early rounds. He got schooled in the early rounds by a slicker athlete.Comment

Ironic you should say this, when it was Ali himself (you know, the guy in your Avi) who said that tough fights will age a fighter faster than years.Comment
