Hearns wasnt gassed, he was beaten down by a guy who is bigger, faster, and more powerful than Floyd. If you think Floyd was rocked by Mosley, you havent seen nothing with what Hearns power would do. Hearns would not let Floyd on the inside and no way can he fight him on the outside or take Hearns rights, not to mention Hearns had underrated speed.

I've said this for years: the welters of the last 10 or so years are small compared to guys like Leonard, Hearns, Tito, Oscar, Ike and so on. In most cases, they would slaughter the new gen and I don't care if you're Foyd or Manny. The latter would, in his prime, have a better shot because of his exceptional speed and slashing power but even then, a good big guy always beats a good small guy.

May doesn't have anything to withstand Hearns power, underrated movement and that length. Nothing.

That ere was Welterweights consisted of all the top guys being 5'10 or taller. It's not like today where they are all 5'7 little dudes.

I agree that Hearns is just too big for Floyd, as is SRL.

Especially Hearns who at 6'1 with a 78" reach and remarkable boxing skills in addition to and speed and crazy power, would have been an unsolvable puzzle for Floyd.

His jab was incredibly versatile, and he used it very well to set up his right hand. It was also lightning fast when he was flicking it out while boxing and moving up on his toes.

To beat him, you had to hurt him.

I don't think there is anything underrated about Hearns speed. He was every bit as fast as Floyd.

You have to wonder why that is. Why would entire weight classes start getting shorter? Or maybe the little guys are just suddenly packing a lot more muscle than they use to.. cough cough PEDs.

More to do with the fact that it is always his power that is talked about. He and a 147 pound Benitez were lightning fast.

Leonard is a better fighter than Floyd. He didn't draw out the fight he was getting outboxed. Ray beat Hearns because he had very good power and he was a baby faced stone cold killer.

Mayweather beats most great welterweights of the past in my opinion. Hearns is one of the few welterweights and Jr middleweights that would beat him prime against prime in my opinion. Hearns had all the tools to beat Mayweather. Hearns was a great long range boxer and was well ahead of Leonard on points when he was stopped late. Hearns had a long fast powerful left jab that landed on everybody. He had a legendary straight right and he threw all the punches with great speed and accuracy, often in combinations. I think he would outbox Mayweather at long range forcing Mayweather to come forward. At some point in the fight I think he would hurt Mayweather and then finish him. Hearns punched harder and faster than Mosley. Hearns was KOed 3 times but always by boxers who hit somewhat harder than Mayweather does at 147. Hearns's chin was not that bad as he fought big punchers successfully many times. I think he could handle Floyd's power but Floyd could not handle his power.

Lol, life and death? Jus coz the judges tried to rob Floyd don't mean the fight was close.

In fact that was one of Floyd's easiest fights ever. He didn't even leave go past gear 3, and Floyd is a six gear engine.

Hearns is a bum who couldn't use his height and reach advantage against Hagler and Sugar Ray.

Floyd would have made him look like Corrales 2.0.
LMFAO this guy. The fact you're calling an ATG like Hearns a bum and even comparing him to Corrales automatically means that you DKSAB!
