Thomas Hearns vs Floyd Mayweather jr

Now that Mayweather is "retiring" again (and hopefully for good) how do you see a fight between him and Thomas Hearns play out @ 147 / 154?

This will sound ridiculous and I really shouldn't be comparing McGregor to Hearns but I think the first 6 rounds where Connor was "competitive" with Floyd (essentially Floyd giving those rounds away on purpose perhaps), where McGregor was using the jab and his reach was somewhat reminiscent to how I would envision Hearns with Floyd, except it would have been a lot worse for Floyd and it would have been devastating the whole way through. I still think stylistically Hearns would have been a nightmare for someone like Mayweather.

    What do you guys think?

Anyone under 5'10 at welterweight and is does not have huge power, crazy stamina, granite chin and top 20 ATG skills is a Mismatch against Hearns.

Floyd just doesnt have the size and power to dish it out against Hearns.

Nonsense thread! We here this all the time. How this guy will beat Floyd coz that and that or that and that. And then they get in the ring with Floyd and he makes them look average.

      Same old same old.

      Floyd is a cheat code.

His best weapon is the ability to take away the opponent's best weapon.

      Honestly it's a troll ability.

Prime Floyd Mayweather went life and death against Far Passed his prime Dela Hoya, and you are thinking that Floyd beats a Prime Hearns?

Tommy is all wrong for Floyd. Longer reach which takes away Floyd's reach advantage that he usually has. Incredible power, outstanding boxer, tremendous hand speed and he won't quit. Floyd is too small for Tommy at WW.

The Hitman is too much for Mayweather.

Mayweather has never come close to facing someone like a prime Hearns. Closest would be Corrales and that isn't very close.

Far passed his prime dela hoya? Lol, funny he doesn't seem to think since just last week he said he was in his prime when he fought Floyd.

Lol, life and death? Jus coz the judges tried to rob Floyd don't mean the fight was close.

In fact that was one of Floyd's easiest fights ever. He didn't even leave go past gear 3, and Floyd is a six gear engine.

Hearns is a bum who couldn't use his height and reach advantage against Hagler and Sugar Ray.

Floyd would have made him look like Corrales 2.0.

There is too much physicality for Floyd to overcome.

It would look like Hearns vs Benitez but more competitive, that last part is a huge compliment to Floyd. I think he would put up a better fight than Benitez, but ultimately like Benitez, he would struggle with the jab, speed, footwork, and the threat of the power.

If you rephrase the question and ask me - who is the better fighter? Very different question, more interesting, and probably a closer argument.

Yeah, it's a stylistic nightmare for Floyd and it's a great match-up at 147 but Hearns would eventually catch him. At 154, Hearn's best weight class? That's ghoulish of you man, poor Floyd get's slaughtered at jr. middleweight.

Floyd would simply draw the fight out and finish off a gassed out Hearns in the later rounds.

                    Leonard already did it.
