give props to credit is due. Conor held is own there. And a great argument he swept the first 4 rounds of the fight. That's an amazing fit in itself.
Knowing...
He lost because he didnt train his entire life to a specific sport, simple. its like a rugby player trying to play in the nfl. Its by no means a harder sport and it is somewhat similar, it is still very technically different and a couple months of training won't go along way. that's what you guys should realize. What Conor did a short amount of time is amazing in itself.Comment

Same result either way...I guarantee it..McGregor said himself he has no answer for when Floyd changed to a high guard and as Conor said "put his forehead in my chest"
Nothing McGregor threw early hurt Floyd...whether Conor is fresh, or gassed, Floyd makes that same adjustment and walks him down either way...
of course he deserved the first 3 rounds Mayweather barely threw a punch...yes, the judges we're off in my opinion as well...I could try to defend a judge that had it 2-1 McGregor, but it really should have been 3-0...
Of course, it's water under the bridge because Mayweather made sure the scorecards didn't matter
That Is true.Comment

McGregor lost because he was in the ring with a better boxer...someone he couldn't hurt, and someone that made adjustments that he couldn't counter
On ESPN after the fight, Conor said himself, that he couldn't believe Mayweather kept coming forward and wasn't hurt by those early shots...he also said (as I've pointed out a bunch of times) that Mayweather made 3 adjustments to his style during the fight...the third adjustment Conor described as Floyd...putting his hands up, and his forehead on my chest...Conor then stated that he had no answer for that style, he never expected Mayweather to fight that way, and he had no idea what to do once Mayweather made that switch...
That is not Conor losing simply because he didn't have the endurance to go 12 rounds...that's getting out boxed by one of the best to ever lace em up...
Yes, Conor punched himself out, and that absolutely is one of the major factors in the outcome...but that too is not a simple matter of not having endurance...it's also the fact that Mayweather kept him under CONSTANT pressure after round 4...Mayweather kept moving forward, going to the body...
McGregor knew at that point that not only did he not have the power to KO Floyd, or make him back up...but that Floyd was going to continue to walk through anything McGregor could throw at him...
So Conor has to then expend even MORE energy constantly trying to back away from Mayweather
Your unhealthy obsession/hate of Mayweather is blinding you to reality...Yes, McGregor deserves lots of credit, he has no reason to be embarrassed...but you're trying so hard to convince everyone (and yourself) of something that wasn't happening...Last edited by Soda_Popinski; 08-28-2017, 02:34 AM.Comment

Even If Floyd did allow Mcgregor to throw punches that did zero "damage" for the first 4 rounds, the fact remains that Mcgregor was the busier fighter and was the only one fighting at that point. Mcgregor deserved those rounds and the official scorecards were once again, a joke. Steve Farhood had the correct score of 86-85 Mayweather, IMO.
Conor connected in the early rounds, and should have easily won the first 4, these judges aren't blind. They are fuvkn crooks!
Fighters give their lives everytime they step in the ring, and this judges can use their magic pen erase whatever accomplishment they don't want to give to the rightful winner of the rounds. It's pathetic,
People fail to realize, although Conor lost, he lasted a solid 10 rounds, even winning the first 3, against one of the greatest boxers of our time IN HIS FIRST PRO BOXING MATCH. That alone deserves props.I think if Conor worked on his boxing stamina and technique a little more and maybe had a couple of boxing fights under his belt before Floyd, he could've had a chance. At least he did better than James Toney in MMA.Comment

I have no problem giving him props, I'd like to see him switch to boxing full time...he can make way more money, and his name/charisma would be good for the sport...

Like I said majority of us in the boxing community didn't give COnor any chance at all. I even gave Floyd 6 rounds to KTFO Conor. Going into the fight. The boxing skill level is apparent this circus is what it is a circus show. Floyd knew, he was going in the fight with a novice, who is suppose to be an easy prey.
The thing is the script wasn't what Floyd was expecting, as do the boxing fans. As Conor truly held his own there, and if it was down to 8 rounds of fighting. He could have won it. True story. Since, like I said first 4 rounds can make a strong case Conor bagged 4 straight rounds. And easy to give Conor 8th round.
Anyway, yes, Conor said he wasn't prepared for the offensive Floyd, but actually come to think of it, he did, he landed those stiff jabs as Floyd came in forward. His jab was excellent. What was lacking as he also emphasized in the interview was fatigue, it was hard for him to acclimatize from a 5 rounder to 12. And you should believe him. It's 2 different sport. 2 different disciplines. Conor lost, coz of lack of time to prepare and gassed out.
What is even more shocking. FLoyd was uncharacteristically open for a body shot over and over that night. Floyd was mediocre that night.
TOO OPEN

Words have meaning. Conor talked a lot of **** for months and didn't back up any of it. He doesn't deserve any respect.
Conor and his fans didn't go into this match with "I just want to be competitive with Floyd, steal some rounds", they were saying that Conor will KO him in one of the first rounds and that this is one of his easier fights and so on. So why the hell should we suddenly give them credit? Conor was beaten from pillar to post by what he himself described as frail old men with brittle hands.Comment

Exactly, these judges didn't give what credit was due to the fighters work, which is sad. Conor put in the work, and again, Floyd's score card shows to create an illusion Conor wasn't able to dance with. Crazy how boxing corruption in Vegas is so apparent.

Conor went to a totally different sport and dominated the first 4 rounds.
That in itself is remarkable. Love him or hate him.Comment
