  • Comments Thread For: Badou Jack Wants Adonis Stevenson, Not Sure Feeling is Mutual

LAS VEGAS Badou Jack doesn't expect his light heavyweight title fight against Nathan Cleverly to be easy Saturday night. But if the former WBC super middleweight champion overcomes Cleverly, he would want to face WBC 175-pound champion Adonis Stevenson in his following fight. Sweden's Jack has wanted to challenge Stevenson for over a year, but settled for landing another title shot in his first fight since moving up from 168 pounds to 175.

Adonis Stevenson turns 40 next month. That's crazy.

Adonis found refuge under Uncle Al. The place fighters go to max their earning's at around $2M while fighting subpar opposition. He pretended he wanted Kov, won't even mention Ward, and in all likelihood will never fight Jack. Maybe he's hoping for a trilogy with Fonfara, that seems about his speed.

It has less to do with Haymon and more to do with Yvon Michel. A lot of Haymon's top guys have been dethroned one way or another over the last 18 months by in-house guys.

There are a lot of in-house guys that could've got a shot. Beterbiev is with Harmon, Alvarez too. Its a promotional issue. Jack is Haymon too.

                Michel is a wild card.

I'm not buying it. If you want to make a fight bad enough, you work with other promoters. Fights outside of house are made all the time. Adonis is a ducker and a chicken*****.

I agree. At this point I don't care who beats him. Somebody has to though lol

But I was addressing your Haymon point. He's been putting his top guys through the gauntlet lately. Just look at the records of his best fighters. It's amazing to me that Yvon has protected Stevenson from it.
