Decent amount of views you have to build up stars you can't just get high ratings right away, I think horn vs crawford will get big ratings.

The ESPN numbers also include the undercard and the HBO numbers don't so it's misleading to say the same amount watched. These numbers aren't spectacular but very solid and significantly better than the Little League World Series and all the other crap in ESPN's typical August programming.

Im sorry but is Spence, Thurman, or anybody else a superstar right now. Floyd is retired and Manny is shot but yet they still are the biggest names. It wasn't like this in the 90's

These writers are quick to post PBC and Top Rank numbers but they have yet to mention any of GB fights on ESPN ratings. I guess it's not in their best interest to mention that GB did 231k on Friday.

Well from what i have read from ppl actually in the boxing biz is that espn and top rank have a huge deal in place and are supposed to be unveiling it this weekend. And from other sources including ppl in the know that are contracted by espn, this is not a time buy. Yet i see "fans" without pesronal knowledge of the situation hoping this fails and acting like its the same as the pbc deal. IT IS NOT. This is supposedly a long term plan in which the fighters will continue to fight consistantly on espn to build their brand. Fighting no less than 3x a yr. And if we are lucky 4-5x a yr. Its activity that will boost ratings once the names are established. What the fighters have to do is be entertaining.

Crawford just isn't a draw. They conveniently left out Pac's viewership numbers on ESPN, which would raise the overall Top Rank average considerably.

These numbers are crap for Crawford. He was doing the same numbers on HBO, a premium channel. ESPN is basically a basic channel like CBS, FOX and NBC.
