But huge drop off from Pacqiao fight that drew 2.8m viewers on ESPN. Also ESPN ran so much promo's all day long for Crawford. You couldn't watch sportscenter without seeing it. If ESPN can get the same ratings for Little League World Series games that they don't even promote or have to pay much money for why are they going to spend millions for Top Rank fights when the time buy is over? Same problem PBC had 1m on HBO or Showtime would be GREAT numbers but on other networks they expect higher then that especially if you want them to spend millions on a TV deal
Boxing's ratings are much higher where it matters to advertisers. In the 18-49 demographic TR Boxing got 0.31 compared to 0.22 for LLWS on previous Saturday. ESPN won't give them a UFC deal but they can certainly do HBOs budget.

Decent numbers. Terrence Crawford was the only name of note on the whole card. Stevenson, Gvozdyk, and Indongo are relatively unknown. If you watched the broadcast, and didn't know anything about any of the boxers, Crawford is the only one you would want to see again. The celebration at the end of the fight, along with bringing his children in the ring was good television.

I agree, Indongo is fairly unknown, but so is Felix Diaz and Crawford managed to get the same viewers when fighting him on HBO.
it comes down to the fact that boxing isnt popular in the states.

            You're just a fool.

Crawford had the place jammed packed and did damn good numbers on ESPN.

Compare his numbers to the Thurman vs Garcia and Porter. You tell me which company does a better job at marketing their fighters.

Didn't Thurman v. Collazo peak at 1.1 million? Garcia v. Paulie was 1.5 million too...Mares v. Santa Cruz averaged 1.2 million

                      Seems like a boxing issue...

The sport needs more TMZ stars unfortunately
