Floyd is pretty much retired and many know this is not really a boxing fight but more of a show and on the other side McGreg is not a boxer so if he loses it won't harm him in terms of fans.

Of course if Floyd loses or wins he would get crap cause its Floyd. Only thing i see going forward is if Conor wins we will see others trying to transition into boxing from MMA.

I leave Friday night for Carson to watch Cotto but i am keeping an eye on this.

Mayweather got a lot of people talking about him and McGregor. Boxing is taking a back seat to their egos.

There wasn't plan B for boxing after Mayweather retired. We had several good fights this year but only hardcore fans saw or cared. Boxing need to take note of this event and find a way incorporate it's success into upcoming events.

Has anyone seen any buzz on mainstream media about Canelo/Golovkin?

Plan B?? All Mayweather did was ruin the sport.. demanding big purses for glorified sparring sessions with overmatched opposition...

When he was gone? There was no leach left over, so fighters had to fight the best in order to make money, no more cherry picking trying to hold out for a payday.

Not surprised this closet-case thinks this is good for boxing. See you in 3 - 5 years when Floyd is having IRS problems again and needs to line up another comeback.

It is true. Yes, the small cult of die-hards still watched boxing the past two years and had some of the best match-ups in a long time the past year. Still, outside of that, the public, the mainstream, the PEOPLE, simply had no idea boxing was still going on. Other than Canelo-Khan and Klitschko-Joshua, no other fight or fighter has made any news outside of boxing sites and publications. I know many just hate Floyd, yet they still click on any article with his name in the title and they always leave a comment and they always pay however much it costs to watch him fight. It is just the truth. No one even mentions or cares about Canelo-G, or any other fight but Mayweather-Mcgregor. This fight isn't bad for boxing, it is bad for those who are obsessed with hating on Mayweather and that is it.

Ruin the sport? Are you familiar with the sport of boxing? At one point boxing was ran by the mob. If by ruining the sport you mean he maximized his earning potential and tried to do the same for other boxers. Do you think someone like Pacquiao would make as much money as he did fighting anyone else other than Mayweather. Hate him or not Mayweather carried the torch for boxing like Ali and others before him. There will still be sh#tty boxing match ups long after he's gone from the sport.

lol.. sure bob! Boxing was doing just fine without him! Mayweahter didn't carry crap, all he did is keep audiences intrigued if he'll ever fight the midget philippino.. and then he was cornered by showtime, because his "record breaking" numbers vs guerrero, maidana (2 times) were crap to justify his paycheck.. Good thing he had the other insult in Canelo to bail him out..

maximize your earnings? I agree with that.. but in a sport where the people pay for your paycheck? Don't go around giving interviews saying "we're not here to give the people what they want, we're here to make smart business decisions"...

Then retire, just to come back and fight someone who HAS NEVER boxed in his life and reward him with a ton of money, for what? He's trying to leach off of idiot MMA fans who are all thinking Conny has a chance.

                  I'm saving my $ for Canela/GGG

I know...was getting ready to post the same thing. Nobody was talking about Flroid-Berto and the only reason they are talking about this fight is because a bunch of MMA fans want to see McGregor knock him out. Most boxing fans realize that it's going to take a lot of things going in McGregor's favor for him to pull it off.
