Conor McGregor will step into a professional boxing ring for the first time to fight one of the all-time greats in Floyd Mayweather Jr on Saturday and the general consensus on the outcome is pretty overwhelming. You will be hard pushed to find an expert predicting anything other than a comfortable win for five-weight world champion Mayweather, who will take his record to 50-0 by silencing his rival in Las Vegas.

I think if this fight goes twelve rounds (can't see it myself) it will damage boxing .

I fully expect mayweather to knock mcgreggor out late. Can't see connars cardio lasting 12 hard rounds

If he does make twelve that's some pretty impressive sheet

People are talking, but for me about the wrong things; the undercard is good but the main event is a unknown and could highly embarrassed the sport .Mayweather wins easy everyone expects that .Macgregor wins by KO or worse still badly fouls Floyd ......boxing losers.

This event is a smash and grab with no real thought for much else and already there's worrying signs that some boxers are already talking about doing cross overs fights.

These are different sports and I hope now it's happening Floyd has enough left to prove to Conor and the world that future thoughts like this should be given an exhibition status and no more.

Man, if you wanted to break Ellerbe's nose, you'd have to kick Floyd in the a$$.

Then why not Gervonta Davis vs Lomachenko?

He definitely helped...but I think we all can agree that despite the sport having one of the best years in a long time in terms of quality matchups, the ratings didn't really follow with the matchmaking (and that matters for long term interests).

Regardless of what we think about the circus, it does have randoms talking about boxing. I just wish the fight was used to cross promote the Canelo v. GGG too. Would've helped sell that to the mainstream. Don't get me wrong, I think it'll do some great numbers (like over 1 million buys), but I think with the right promo, it could get close to 2 million. I don't see that happening now though.

The sport's politics get in its own way too much. These two fights three weeks apart was a major opportunity for the sport, and all I'm seeing is promo in isolation. It's dumb on both parties imo. Sometimes you can grow the pie instead of fighting for pieces of the existing market.
