Yes but those things are a result of marketing and landing the big fight (Canelo) not because of ability or resume. And g string hasn't exactly been a financial success when trying to carry a card on his own.

Canelos beef with the WBC is that they were forcing him into a purse bid for the g string fight. Their purse bids state that the challenger gets 33% of the purse. No way in hell would Canelo (or any other fighter with options) agree to let the challenger have 33% of a purse that he (Canelo) brings in 80% of the revenue. I have no idea what g strings making for this fight but it sure as hell isn't 33%.
