Do you devalue Terence's accomplishment because of weak opposition?

I was having a conversation with a dude over the weekend and he said that Craw fights "hand picked opponents and he feels like he's unstoppable".

he seemed to diminish his undefeated undisputed rank that ESPN made such a big deal out of...because of the opposition he did it against....

    what is your take??

I don't know how you can't. I mean there is a lot of logic in you can only beat the guys put in front of you which are guys in your division, but then again you can't credit a guy with a bigger win unless its a legit bigger win.

His resume is what keeps him from being the best p4p fighter in the sport for me and others. That stated, Postol and Indongo are very good wins.

Just because Crawford is significantly better and showed it shouldn't diminish either fighter.

Resume matters. There is a reason why Floyd and Manny aren't ranked higher than guys like Leonard, Robinson, Duran, Hearns, and Hagler. Their resumes simply don't match up to those guys. Why do you think in fantasy match ups between GGG and other all time great middleweights always end with the All-time great Middleweights getting the benefit of the doubt. It is because his resume doesn't match up to those guys.

There is a thread on NSB where Floyd is ranked 1 spot above Hagler in a poll of ATG's, so I would be careful when you post things for affect but are not clear about the facts.

Crawford's resume isn't as bad as you are making it out to be IMO.

I dont know man, you could pick apart anyones resume in boxing. Truth is, Crawford cleared a division, a feat that hard to come by this day and age and he made it look easy and thats to his credit, not the weak opposition because imo he made them look weak. If clearing a division were easy, wed have more UNDISPUTED/UNIFIED world champs than just 1. Andre Ward is my favorite fighter, and the (rightful) true champ at 175lbs, but as long as Adonis has that ugly green belt, there will always be that "what if" question?

Compared to other fighters it is and any rational person would have Hagler rated higher. Hagler simply has the better resume.
